Re: wheel and tire combo

do a you tube search for 1956 Jack Daniels Truck. You'll see a couple videos from PTC Cars. I believe you may get a few idea from that one.

Hey, I like it. I know someone has said they don't like "posers"; I think I get what is meant by that. But I like and respect anything done to ones tastes...chopped, stock, modified, gasser look, old beater, period correct, or maybe something else....so I think the so called Jack Daniels truck is good. I wonder what they are asking. The truck I have is in much better shape than that one...

Not exactly 60's era wheels but definitely NASCAR! Building my 67 up with Aero Race Wheels and painting the Goodyear Eagle logos on the sidewalls.

Looks like a "cup" tire and wheel. Those will look cool on a truck..

I will add some better pictures soon. Thanks for the comment. As for the rear end, I removed 3 of the six rear leafs and put on a set of Monroe Air Shocks. I can lower it more but need to roll the inner fender lip a little bit. However with the air shocks, the thing rides great......

Nice work, I like the stance and the wheels sit nice in the fenders. What wheel/tire combo did you with in the front and rear? I read through the thread but must have missed it somewhere.

Re: wheel and tire combo

Man, what a difference in attitude. I personally would go with spider caps to set it off and give it that muscle truck look. Either way, the change in wheels and height have made all the difference in this truck already

Re: wheel and tire combo

I like it! I do agree about the hub caps. Tim's idea sounds good or maybe the small police caps. just something to break it up a little.

Did you get your front end straightened out, are you driving your truck?

The truck has corvette like rally wheels from summit racing (pretty cheap) 7x15 on the front (with p255 60s) and on the real same rally wheels except 8x15 and has p275 60s. Back spacing is 4.25 on both the front and back. I did have to bend the rear fender lips in to make the rear tires fit. If I could have waited for 4.50 back spacing, it would have been perfect. Still, they fit with no rubbing (since fender lip has been rolled in). By the way the wheels come silver but I had them satin powder coated with a 20% shine (above flat).

Solid,
I am driving it some (around town-Sierra Vista). I have yet to see your front end guy for the final adjustment. It is relatively close from/for "eye balling it". It actually drives and tracks really well, but need it adjusted so I don't eat the front tires off. Now that it is pretty close, I will get it done (final front end adjustment) soon....I do believe that the upper A arms will need to be a 1/2 shorter though....we'll see....
