Re: Help with my ECE 4/6 stance?
So that puts me 2" off what you have (16 1/2 vs. 14 1/2). I plan to go with 20" wheels and 40 to 45 series tires so I think I want mine to match your height in the back, so that means about 2 inches which might be too much without doing a notch. Will be curious on your install experience with that. Seems like a big pain to do with the bed on the truck.
Can't wait to see it sitting low in the front! |

Re: Help with my ECE 4/6 stance?
I have roughly 1.5 to 2 inches from the axle to the frame. I already had intentions of c-notching the frame. I bought the porterbuilt c-notch, and little did i know it requires to remove the bed because it is a two piece install. I didn't want to go that route and endure any extra work so I have decided to sell the kit and buy one from CPP where it doesn't require a bed removal. I have a friend that is going to do the work for me, hence he has all the right tools for the job for an easy install. Mine will be welded in. once I become a paying member, i will post the c-notch in the classifieds.
You and me both on getting the front installed. I go in the garage everyday and just stare at it i will keep you posted. |

^^ The bed is easy to remove. I'd give that PB notch another chance.
Do you have an engine hoist? It is just about 6 bolts holding the bed on. If not, I have a 68 that might be able to use it. Let me know if you'd like to sell it.

Re: Help with my ECE 4/6 stance?
I have also found that different springs have a different rate and will change the final overall drop. I added 5 inch drop springs to the rear of mine from Speedway and they are way soft. I think I got more drop than that.

Re: Help with my ECE 4/6 stance?
Hey Toxic Orange,
I finally got a chance to change out my springs and think I figured out the problem. ECE sent 1 1/2" big block drop springs. the new springs dropped me a little over an inch, so I'm right about where your front end is at. I really feel relieved that's all it was, I was worried I had one of "those" trucks. As soon as I get the fenders back on I'll post some pics. |

Sklptrljay,
That seems like an easy fix. Guess you could have just dropped a big block in there and called it good too Will be looking forward to the pics... |

Re: Help with my ECE 4/6 stance?
Toxic, you may already have your answers but i am in Highland Village with 4.5/6 set up. ECE does not make a 1.5 inch big block spring so i had to go with a 2" spring. When i move the fuel tank to the rear i think there will less rake...... when full of fuel. I'll PM my cell number if you want to take a look or a drive.
