Re: smashed lwb70
I was going to say, that pass. Side front wheel looked like it was pushed back in the opening in that one pic, my question is since you had it so far down why not just replace the frame rather than piecing it together?

Re: smashed lwb70
I was having a hard time finding a good donor frame that was completely strait...I probably could have looked harder and found one, but I am trying to keep this truck to a short budget since it will be my daily. I may end up putting it on a swb frame anyway, so with that thought in the back of my mind, I didn't want to sink a whole lot of money into something that I might change later. The guy who helped me weld it back together owns the shop I was working in and he specializes in frame repair, so I feel good about cutting it and welding it back together. It is actually easier than cutting in a set of "C" notches.

Wow, you got all that work done in one day! You can come to my house for a ling weekend and finish my whole truck!
But seriously, good looking repair job. Probably stronger than it was before.

Re: smashed lwb70
Thanks. It is going to be an awesome daily. I am so happy that I will be driving a truck again.
Thanks! Quote:
I believe it is stronger than before. There is no reason it wouldn't be. I have driven wrecked vehicles my whole life (in Texas we call them salvage title cars). This is just one more...What most people don't know is the average car has been wrecked at least once (not all, just most). As long as they are fixed properly they will drive just fine. I wish I had more $ so I could build some more trucks!

Re: smashed lwb70
Looks like it will be a nice ride. Too bad about the frame though. Next time you ever have to join frame, cut it diagonal or put a notch in your cut. Frames like to crack and if not done right, will crack right in half right beside the weld. Yes you did put fish plates in, that will help. But it still makes me cringe when I see things like that. I am a certified pressure welder, just if your curious. Got any pics of it finished yet??

Re: smashed lwb70
