Just did a quick CL search on denver auto parts and got from $150 to $750, with most at $200.

My K20 has the SM465 4spd and I've 4.56s. It'll run 60-65, but I'm more comfortable keeping it around 55. It gets around 11mpg.
One thing you have to get used to is the gap between 2nd and 3rd gear. Not a big deal, but it's noticeable. |

my 69 (no buck) had one in it. I ended up swapping a 1/2 ton 12 bolt in it with ~2.90 gears in it, and it ran fine at 75.
