Re: another ccsb build

I didn't like the "showwheels" script on the spoke. Or "streeter", or whatever it says.

Haha, I change my mind all the time too. I actually pulled the trigger and ordered the streeters on Monday. There were some other options but for the price I don't think I could go wrong. If I decided against them I'll just put them on my bucket.

Should have tires and the rear wheels Monday, fronts are back ordered a few weeks.

Re: another ccsb build

its been a while since I've made any progress on this truck. Now that the busy season is done I picked up a couple of flips to help fund my build. Then I can start posting pictures of my build and not other vehicles hahahaah

I picked up this 81 c10 a couple weeks back, needs a few things under the hood installed, body work doesn't look very good. I bought it because it came with a new set of Dakota digital gauges, led tails, upgraded headlight harness, extra tilt column... I'm hoping to put it back together and still make a decent amount of money

I bought this C20 this week with the intention of either selling it or pulling the body off it and scrapping it but I may just get it running and use it as a work truck. No rust, or any real dents to speak of.

As soon as I finish up the suspension on my Cadillac I'll start focusing on my crew cab again. I got the bags installed this weekend.

Re: another ccsb build

So I've sold all of the flips and unfortunately the cadillac too, I wanted to keep the caddy but I couldnt pass up the profit and the paint had some bubbling starting that I didnt want to deal with.

Re: another ccsb build

A couple months ago I picked up a pretty decent K10, so I lifted it and had the 454 originally built for my crew cab swapped in.

Re: another ccsb build

finally got around to getting some work done on the crew cab too. I lowered the front with early classic 3/4 to 1/2 ton spindles cups and plates and dominator 2600's.

I lowered the back with a flip kit and air over leaf kit and c notch. Found out that c20 crew cabs are basically a 1 ton so I had to swap in half ton hangers and still need to fab some shock mounts.

I think I'm going to swap the c notch/AOL for a PB step notch and 4 link but I want to get this truck moving so It'll sit like this for a bit. A picture of the progress, still needs to get some cupped lowers but looking better.

Re: another ccsb build

The ECE conversion drop spindles are so overlooked when it comes to switching these 3/4 ton trucks to 1/2 ton suspension.
SO glad someone finally used them for a swap.
I've had a set for 5-6 years just waiting for the right truck to use them on.
Your crew cab is going to be killer.

Re: another ccsb build

Thanks for the comments guys, I just need to get motivated to get back to working on this thing. I'm still not decided on what I'm going to do for air management still, I was looking at the new air lift setup but I think I'll end up with an accuair manifold and avs controller. I want to keep things as inexpensive as possible but thats never easy haha.

I was pretty sad to see the caddy go but the original plan was to flip and make a few $$ on it.

Re: another ccsb build

Well I got a little side tracked again Found this zero rust 86 c10 a couple weeks back, it has a 4.3 that needs a head gasket but I think I got a pretty fair deal on it.

I spent the week getting the frame shortened and got it lowered also. I'm going to drop it off to get the motor looked at this weekend. I'm hoping the motor is still good but if not I have a deal lined up for a 350

Re: another ccsb build

So the 2wd crew cab has kind of come to a stand still while I worked on my '86 shortbed. I dropped the '86 off for paint a couple weeks ago and expect it back in a couple weeks.

Last week I found a K30 about 2.5 hours away and I jumped on it. Prices on these crew cabs are stupid right now so when I saw this truck in a price I could swing I couldnt pass it up. Its '90 with an overheated 454, th400, missing a bed but the rust on it isnt too bad. It was originally a school district truck so its pretty stripped. Plans for now are to swap in a 350 from a parts suburban while I gather parts for a Ls swap, ditch the dual wheels, lift ...

Sounds like a good plan. Going to keep it a long bed? My plow truck came from a school district too. How did you like those wings on your straight plow? I'm considering something similar.

Squares were a lot more fun when they were cheap and plentiful. There was a 2wd crew not far from me that was for sale a year or more and it'd already been lowered, converted to 5-lug, shortened, no drivetrain but really cheap that I regret now. Glad to see you still have yours in the pipeline.

Would you consider selling that truck as it is? I am looking for a 4 x 4 frame. I have a 2wd frame for a crew cab but I want to end up with 4 x 4. Let me know. Thanks. Joe

yep this one will stay a long bed. The wings are great, I spent a little more on our newer plows and bought the Boss brand wings and they are even better than the Buyers wings.
