Re: My first C-10 **Warning pic heavy**
Yes the battery tray will need to be relocated to the drivers side but that's not a problem you can fabricate a battery tray and brackets.
There is a lot to think about that's for sure. |

Looks like you have a good start going on.
On the patch panel stuff you can't be to careful. What one says is acceptable work may not be acceptable by the paying customer. Good luck with your build. Like the motivation. Subscribed Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My first C-10 **Warning pic heavy**
I did my electric fans as pushers, and they work great. 3 core aluminum radiator. Battery in stock C10 location. Engine moved forward about 2"-3"

37k. I'm trying to hold off on ordering anything else until I get home and inspect it myself. I'm pretty excited though

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
That's super low milage, there's a lot of miles left in that bad boy.
That engine is so sick, a TBSS engine in a c10 haha I love it. |

Thanks. Funny I used to own a tbss and this was not intentional. I actually found it on a different site. I'm hoping to do a cam swap and a few other things before I drop it in. We'll see what the funds allow Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
I guess horsepower is addictive, I wouldn't even know what to do with 400 let alone more, I don't need a 10 second truck, I would get in too much trouble haha.

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
Yes it is. My goal when I bought the truck was 400-450whp which shoukd be pretty impressive in this truck. Cam and bolt ons should put me right around 400ish which will keep a smile on my face for quite some time

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
I did some research on the TBSS 4l70e and there is a lot of talk about high failure rate.
Some guys took them in and had them beefed up and then after all that the output shaft broke so it seems like they have trouble handling anything over 400 bhp. You may consider selling it and buying a 4l80e to handle the power because it would be cheaper than paying to beef up the 4l70e. Heres one of the articles I read http://ss-shootout.com/trailblazer_t..._upgrades.html |

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
I'm quite familiar with the failure rate on the 4l70e trans in the tbss. That was the contributing factor to me demodding mine and trading it in. I went through 4 built transmissions in less than a year. The biggest contributing factor is the weight of the tbss. One of the fastest awd tbss's is still rocking a 4l70e. I thought about all this before buying this combo and made a phone call to one of the leading vendors in the tbss community for the 4l70e. He was more than helpful and told me that 400whp should be perfectly fine on a stock trans in this lighter truck. All he suggested was upgrading to corvette servos and run a smallish stall around 3000.
I was actually logging in to do some research in your build thread about steering columns. I have a 3 speed steering column but a 4 speed trans. How does that work? The indicator just doesn't read right or will it not shift into one of the gears? Posted via Mobile Device |
