Re: Jimmy/Detroit Diesel Videos
That 6V-53 sounds exactly like and sure does remind me of my old '67 GMC 7500.
Here it is revised: Bill

Re: Jimmy/Detroit Diesel Videos
That cannonball in video #3 looks really weird to shift. Is that just an eaton with the shift tower way behind the driver?
That 6-71 video is awsome. That guy has thing pinned!

Re: Jimmy/Detroit Diesel Videos
It's just a regular 10-Speed Road Ranger, it's really just the way he is shifting it. In my opinion, he is shifting it "old school". The younger generation would shift them faster, both on the Double-Clutch and the Shifter speed. If you use the Clutch at all. As mentioned before in different threads, I would always use the Clutch. I would Double-Clutch every gear up and down shifting. It allowed me to shift faster and smoother.

Re: Jimmy/Detroit Diesel Videos
Not that I can remember Tim. Cannonball was an interesting show. I remember them on when I was a kid. Haven't seen one in many years though.

Re: Jimmy/Detroit Diesel Videos
Thanks. I barely remember the show. Can you imagine if they put the same show out today?

Re: Jimmy/Detroit Diesel Videos
We had our local show last weekend (Mason-Dixon ATHS). There were three Detroit powered trucks there. I messed up on videoing one (camera off) and accidentally deleted this yellow GMC pulling out:

Re: Jimmy/Detroit Diesel Videos
They all sound great. I like how the Detroit drowns out the 2 B-Models, although the B-Models are pretty cool themselves.
Looks like a great time. Seems like a pretty nice place. Bill

Re: Jimmy/Detroit Diesel Videos
This was the first time the show was here. This is just outside Frederick, MD along US340 at Gladhill Tractor Mart, the John Deere dealership in the county. They've already been having the antique tractor/steam engine show/pull. combining them will do a lot to bring interest in our area. before, you either already knew about the show because you're already into the trucks or you happened to drive past the International dealer in the industrial area in town.
That other truck I fouled up recording was quieter (I didn't say quiet). Sounded real nice and tight
