The cowl comes off easily- I had to use an impact driver on just one screw, the rest came out freely. The trickiest part is trying to get the wiper arms off, especially the passenger side because of the reach all the way over....

My cowl is all rust with no paint left so I wasn't too worried. I'll be looking for the tool when it gets painted though (I actually checked if autozone had one when I was buying an oil filter on the weekend).
