That's the right way to do it . The damage could easily have been done by a stranger turning around in the neighbors driveway .

The only way you can pin that on your neighbor is if he has damage to his car with your paint on it.

that sucks,with a report filed
I'd write up a letter and drop it off at the houses in sight
mentioning hit and run......
could be a pizza driver,or could be in the shop getting fixed, avoiding seeing you till then
would you normally see them more?

Well that is good and bad. Might be better off to fix your self and not have them as neighbors anymore. But I would talk to the new neighbors (if they did move out) and tell them what happened and to be careful when backing out. Good luck.

I guess I've had a lot of tings happen to me but this has happened too, I was in an apartment and ppl moving out hit my 2001 truck with the moving van and never reported it. U definitely need to talk to them just to get it straitened out, they may just blow you off but it is not fair to leave damage like that and not deal with it.

Definitely the "hittER"'s fault, but still, when you drive a classic you gotta keep it out of harm's way as best you can!

You ever file a police report?

That stinks! At least it didn't damage the rocker, fender or bed side.

In a situation like this, I wonder if the chance of this escalating into something much worse is worth it? There are way too many crazy people out there that would put a bullet in you just for looking at them the wrong way.

I'd just get a new door and let it go. Chalk this one up to bad luck.

I for one could not do that. I would have to at least let them know and what I told the police. But not worth getting into a fight over. MO

You could just leave the damage, and always part the truck in front of their house, with the bashed-in door staring at them forever. Let guilt do the rest.

On the other hand, find a way to not let anger and bitterness ruin ~your~ life - these people might not even give a crap, and there's no point letting it turn you into an bitter old man.

I live next door to an angry bitter old man. It's inspired me to find a positive way to sail off into the sunset.

When you get your new door put your old smashed in one in their yard or drive way, they hit it so they can now own it. Ha

I am very surprised that the window did not break with how smashed in that door is. Mine shattered when a teenager backed his jeep into my door and it didn't even do half the amount of damage as yours. I got lucky though the kid who hit my truck was man enough to come to my door and tell me that he had backed into it.

Not to drift away from the subject at hand, but I admit that I like your wheel/tire combo. Something about whitewalls on a vintage square....
