Re: Cruise the coast ?

Just a little info I got from the Biloxi cops last year. Biloxi has cameras at all the red lights along 90. Biloxi brings in a mobile command post and sets it up in front of Edgewater Mall. They can monitor every traffic cam in the city from the command post. It is against Mississippi law to use a camera for traffic tickets. There are ways around that law, so be careful doing burnouts at the red lights. The command post is usually not manned until Thursday but can be as needed. I also find that the cops are not nearly as bad the first couple of days as they are Thursday thru Saturday. I usually get my burnouts out of my system the first few days of the week. Friday and Saturday nights will have cops walking and standing in the crowd and a bunch of motorcycle cops out and about so be careful. The copper told me someone gets run over every year and several have been killed in the past so PLEASE be careful. If you have never been my advice would be to find some where and park Friday and Saturday night and watch the madness. It has been known to get a little wild at times.

Re: Cruise the coast ?

Any of y'all remember pre Katrina days before the cops got bad. Every car that pulled up to a red light would do a burnout. I seen casino busses try, fat chick on a moped, old people and even a cop do a burnout. I guess it was to much fun and big brother had to step in.

O yeah 33 days, 13 hours and 27 min until.

Re: Cruise the coast ?

Well, I got a room, but it is pricey. I'm going to keep calling the place I want to stay to try and catch a cancellation. You know my dad has a small RV, we'd just have to find a place to park and someone to drive it over...

I wonder what the space-a is at billeting on Kessler??

VERY RARElY can you get anything at Keesler. We have such a huge student influx/outflux you can rarely get in. But who knows...give it a shot.

Depending on what days you come ovr. Thursday we normally drive everywhere and get stamped. Friday we'll be in Ocean Springs all day. Saturday I am normally near my home turf in Gulfport (Cruise Central, maybe Edgewater) because of traffic. Hopefully we'll get to meet up this year.

Re: Cruise the coast ?

Tragically,a young boy was run over and killed last year when he ran out in traffic on 90.
Was NOT the drivers fault!!!
So,Ya'll be very careful and watch for the kids!
Early on,I would spin a tire too,but it's gotten too big for that now.Way too dangerous.
There are plenty of rv sites along the coast. You should be able to find these on a Google search.

My plan is to come over on Wednesday and head home on Saturday afternoon. I really like Ocean Springs pleanty of shade, we got there late last year so we didn't get a great parking spot but this year I plan to be early!

Re: Cruise the coast ?

I'm getting pretty amped up about CTC now - Blazer is running smooth as a Cadillac and I'm itching for a road trip in it So, weather permitting, instead of trailering down I'm planning on driving it the 260 miles to the Coast!!! My husband thinks this is crazy as it will probably take 6 hours instead of the normal 4.5 hours; with Super Swampers & 4.56gears it doesn't like going but about 53mph max speed. So him & our boy will come later in the comfy DD & trailer as a chase vehicle.

I read the build on this Blazer. Awesome! I hope to see it while I'm at the cruise.

Re: Cruise the coast ?

I am disappointed that there will not be a Tuesday cruise at the Biloxi VA... They are having something similar at a bar / marina in Biloxi but I cant imagine there will be room for all the cars & trucks like at the VA..

Wrong VA Craig. The Biloxi VA is the one that is out this year (Tuesday...I don't think you were ever here for that one). The old Gulfport VA is still Cruise Central...Thank Goodness.
