I'm all for cheating the system. I say disconnect the spedo cable and use a GPS to tell how fast you're going.

It'll probably be cheaper in the long run.

It won't cost me anything. I failed smog b/c the wires were burnt from the headers causing it to misfire thus the hc at the tailpipe went up. During the smog I tried to keep the wires away from the headers with a pry bar and the levels looked good. I wasn't able to hold them off long enough to pass so I need to figure out a way to keep 5 and 6 away from the headers.

It's just the way these headers are engineered is crappy.
