Re: stepside shortbed?

I have never seen a short step in the 73-87 years with the spare mounted on the outside fender like the early models used. I think I saw one long step that had the fender spare, but that is it for these years or me.

Re: stepside shortbed?

When I first bought my truck, I wanted to buy a fleetside bed to replace the stepside. I have grown to really like the step side look...maybe because I just like being different?

Re: stepside shortbed?

lilpoindexter ,my truck would look similar to yours if it had that much paint left on it ,same color with spare on the fender and still stock height .Yours looks much better than mine .

Re: stepside shortbed?

Anybody got a photo of a shortstep with the fender-mounted spare ?

I don't recall ever seeing one in the "square" body style, & would like to.

Obviously, I'm a fan, and am starting the search to replace my former truck.

Re: stepside shortbed?

My dad bought this 76' new, round taillights, markers and fuel filler neck is low.

I bought this 77' new, square taillights, markers and fuel filler neck was higher.

Re: stepside shortbed?

What do you guys think would be a good price for this bed? I wish I could get the whole truck but that's probably out of the question.
