Re: 56 truck deluxe heater box assembly
I believe I also used Hammerite Black for my heater box.
http://www.kilz.com/hammerite/v/inde...008c05d103RCRD There are some other colors available in quarts but I believe I used a canned color. There are also some steel squirrel cages available for auxiliary heaters if the ones offered here don't pan out. http://www.apartswarehouse.com/Brows....aspx?CatID=73 http://www.apartswarehouse.com/Brows....aspx?CatID=72 http://www.davisbus.com/accessory parts manual 2006/16Heaters_16.pdf The wheels and motors seen above typically are not available through normal auto parts houses. You might consider dumping the thermostatically controlled temp valve, too. A standard cable actuated on - off valve would work just fine. |

Re: 56 truck deluxe heater box assembly
jumbo
62 is correct on the spacers required . there are 2 sizes 5/8 and 7/8 of an inch. the 5/8 spacers - you need 5 - they go on the 3 studs of the fan motor side . On the core side the 7/8 spacer ( you need just one ) that spacer goes on the long stud on the left - or if you are looking at the firewall from the front ; it would be the far right stud. the other 2 core box studs get the remaing 2 5/8 spacers . i hope that makes sense - if not i will try to help you out as much as i can . Also jumbo - by the look of the core boxes i think the heater core flange you need might just work - if it is indeed in the box. AND 62LWBC10 good answers to jumbos ?s |

Re: 56 truck deluxe heater box assembly
If you can't locate a heater core maybe a radiator repair shop can fix the heater core you have? Assuming it is repairable. Heater cores are basically small radiators. Just a thought here....
