Re: what items did you find in your truck?

Two dirty pairs of underwear one dirty sock and a receipt for gas from 1999 when gas was under 1.50 a gallon. But no snakes.

Re: what items did you find in your truck?

I forgot to add, when I took the bed off my tuck I drained the auxillary gas tanks, both of which were not hooked up, and both of which were almost full, the gass was still good! it was clear and didn't smell bad, it must have been left in there from when gas was "good". surprisingly it hadn't evaporated out

Haha, I don't know what would be worse, a snake or two dirty pairs of underwear! haha! Seems as though .22's were a mandatory item in these old trucks. I too found some .22 shells in mine. Nothing cool though.

Funny you should mention that, when my father in law and I were tearing apart our 69 K5, a black snake poked his head out of the cowl area, he had made a 3 hour ride home from picking up the K5. He then proceeded to dive deep into the Blazer, we saw him again in the rocker boxes, and again in a crossmember under the bed area, but he was always too quick to grab. He finally disappeared somewhere.

Re: what items did you find in your truck?

Things I found in my 72 long bed...

Cigarette buts.... Lots of them. The original jack, untouched and never used. If not for the 75 coats of schmutz and oil it would have been a cool find but was just another item to clean. Several empty Old Milwaukie beer cans under the bench (it was a different era on multiple levels), several Bear razor head arrow tips in the glove box (still really sharp-surprise!) 3 snake skins, most of the bench seat stuffing in the glove box (hiding said arrow tips). The heater box custom stuffed by several rodents and I'll give them credit as they are very good at it. Several pieces of chain welded together, I don't think I'll pull anything with them buggers.
And the final piece of "history" was the last registration paper work from 2000 when the old truck last rolled down the highway.

Re: what items did you find in your truck?

I haven't had the seat out of my truck yet. I will post my findings, should be interesting..

However, having bought and sold a million Camaros, Z/28's, Trans Ams and such, I do know that every one of these type cars had at least one of the following in it;

1) butterfly knife or switchblade

2) razor blade

3) remains of lefty cigarette

4) bail bondman's card

5) parole officer check in slips

6) WalMart receipts, almost always with diapers on it

7) Marlboro red pack

8) cassette tape, either Skynyrd, Bob Seger, ZZ Top, Van Halen or Zeppelin

Mine had a plastic cross with Jesus on it, and a roach clip with a half used empty rolling paper on it.

Re: what items did you find in your truck?

After thinking about this it occurred to me that I forgot to list what was in the bed...

Two 69 outer grills in driver shape w/dents.
The tailgate (removed for the camper)
A jeep tonka toy (commando pulling a boat on a trailer)

I haven't removed the seat so I'm sure there's probably something. I'm hoping for build sheet.

It was a rattler . I had a 327 sitting in the bed . I approached from side to uncover it . If I had approach from front , he'd had clear shot

Re: what items did you find in your truck?

When I bought my 4x4, the ashtray was loaded to the brim of quarters.. Inside all the quarters were 5 silver ones. A 1925, 1945, 1947, 1948, and 1952.. Total change count not including the silvers was just over $35.00 if anyone wanted to know how many quarters one of our ashtrays could hold.. haha. I still have the silver ones though, don't know whether to sell them to a gold&silver shop or a coin shop..

I agree... looks like a "velvet tail" timber rattler. Not one I would like to find, even dead.

Re: what items did you find in your truck?

Under the seat a 54 or 55 first series hood emblem, .22 cases, a empty brake fluid bottle, old broken screwdriver, cricket cigarette lighter, under the hood behind the headlight a cigarette case with Zig Zag on it with a pack of rolling papers a alligator clip and a big ol bag of weed inside that looked like it had been in there a awful long time.
