Re: 1980 short box build
Had some time tonight to work on the truck after my shoulder physio. Managed to get the radiator and a few things attached to the front clip. Plan for tomorrow is to get the front clip off.
Just a few quick questions about that, - For all the wiring for the head lights, is there a way to disconnect that whole harness at the firewall ? -Where exactly are all the bolts, i know i need to get the hood off than there is one in the door jam, one on right beside the hood hinges, where are the others? i took a quick peak but unfortunately my light died so couldn't find them all. |

Re: 1980 short box build
So front clip will be staying on for now, frame shop would rather i have all the body parts on.
Finally took some time to look into the steering column, i will defiantly be needing another one, looks like someone has taken it apart and decided not to put any effort into fixing it properly and putting parts back into it. Since i need it to be able to steer here within a week or two i will need to hit the junk yard up for one tomorrow hopefully just for a quick cheap drop in one. Does the 73-87 bolt in or will i have problems with them? Please if anyone knows let me know by tonight or early tomorrow. Thanks & have a happy new years! |

Re: 1980 short box build
Got some time today to work on the truck, considering its -30* here in Calgary I'm very grateful to have a somewhat heated garage. Started off as just going to get the gas tanks off but ended up being the gas tanks, exhaust & Headers.
Quick question, someone said that the step notches for s10's would also fit the c10. Can anyone clarify on that ? Thanks! |

Re: 1980 short box build
Hey guys just got a quick question for you guys,
what is the best tank to run in the back there behind where the notches will go, does a 67-72 blazer tank drop right in or need any modification or should i just build a aluminum tank myself. Also what needs to be done cause it was the 2 tank previous do i just re-run the fuel lines as 1? What exactly do i need as well ; sender , fuel pump ? stuff like that. thanks |
