You got that right. I used to ride around in the back of a 69 long bed when i was a kid and always loved the style. Thats how I got into them....

Agreed. This truck is another example of your comment. Although, I will add that pretty much any make truck from this time period were exceptional. Jeeps, dodges, internationals, even ferds.

Nice find!

Tony, any chance I could be second in line for the hub caps if you decide to sell them?

Re: I struck Gold again!!!! 1968 Custom

Hey Guys , so after a funny conversation with my friend Eric AKA SuperflySteiny about this old truck. We decided to work together on this project and dub it GOLDFINGER..... Yeah we like the idea of building a truck that just about anyone on the board could find in their neck of the woods... and build. We're not talking over the top , we want to show you step by step on how we come up with the build idea, track down all affordable parts and build a ride that anyone would be proud to show. Real trucks for real life.... no trailer queens here .........

Rene,
You know when you find these trucks out in the field , or in the barns out in the middle of nowhere. You feel obligated to breath new life back into them. For me thats part of it, but I really like the moment when you seal the deal on the truck and the ideas start flooding in...... Thats what i'm talking about. you member!!!!

Re: I struck Gold again!!!! 1968 Custom

Wow,
A facory posi, that's not common. My dad's 68 had one w/the 327 engine, it was a 3.73 gear, maybe what you have.
Luckily I swapped out the posi rear, ,it was making noise (clutches) for a good 3.07 gear. He got rid of the pickup 4 years ago

If you do have a 3.73 gear, the original 327 (after a rebuild) would push that thing around, very easily, and be an inexpensive build.
