Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
Hey did not realize you were on this board too. I will be getting the Crew express kit we talked about as soon as the truck is in the driveway.
BTW the kit and fan for my Monte SS is fantastic. Looks very clean and works perfectly! |

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
Sweet....yeah, I have an 86 K10 shortbox I'm building at the same time as my 80 Monte. And, I'm building my father in laws 77 GMC High Sierra. Glad the fan kit is working out on the SS. I built an indentical kit for my truck using a 2-speed Crown Victoria fan but I have it wired on the high speed terminal using my 3-speed harness. On the muggy Iowa summers and having AC, it maintains 185-190 all the time. I may have to just come down for a week of custom install work for ya if this keeps up....lol.

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
So you sell a kit for power windows w/ relays (2 door)
a kit for headlights and a kit to do electric fans? Can I have more info on this? I definitely plan to do the doors and electric fan swap. |

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
Sure...PM me with details on what you're looking to do. I have a unique 3-speed fan harness that can be used on any fan or dual fan setup and is designed to eliminate voltage spiking. I build both used and new fan kits kits. The new fans I prefer to use are 2010-up Mustang GT fans-they move a lot of CFM-similar to the dis-continued Mark VIII fans from Motorcraft.

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
This is the basic 4-door relay kit. Express Down can be added by request.....it can be any number of windows....each window requires 2 relays and 1 Express Down module if desired. Wiring diagram and polyolephin tubing included-easily mounts behind door panel and all wiring is done right at each switch.

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
PM sent to chevy-fun! As stated in the PM, the front lighting harness is complete from firewall bulkhead connector out with integrated relay upgrade for headlights-no need to splice or use adapters. I had ordered a variety of the so called HD ceramic headlight connectors and was not at all impressed a ceramic was more like dried toothpaste and chipped off easily-not to mention the thin terminals are nowhere near the quality of a Packard 59-series terminal....heck, the ceramic material is so weak the Packard 59 terminals won't even fit in them! So, I use NEW thermoplastic Delphi headlight connectors.

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
I have a 77 crewcab with manual doors that I'm putting 90 suburban doors on it. Is it possible to hook these relays into my 77 fuse box or will there be more things to add to it??

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
No, a complete replacement harness will work. The only difference that won't matter in your case is that the power door lock relay mounts on a bracket to the right of the accelerator pedal vs. at the fusebox. My harness has all the correct GM fusebox connectors.

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
Just to clarify, if you are putting full power doors on your 77 that is not equipped with power accessories, you'll need a complete center harness at least and at most both door harnesses unless you managed to retain both LH and RH door harnesses. But, if you want to convert to relay power or add the auto-down option for either side, you'd be better off with a complete harness to keep everything simple. The relay splice kit is designed for trucks already equipped with factory power windows.

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
This is what I have connected to the door. I'm a little lost as to what's considered a complete harness

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
Ok....it appears you have a mostly complete door harness-yiu are missing the end of the door lock solenoid wires consisting of a 2-wire connector....a complete harness consists of 3 sections-the center dash harness and both LH and RH door sections for both front and rear doors. Without knowing exactly what you have to deal with, I would suggest a complete NEW harness so you know everything is included. I would be hesitant to send you a partial harness not knowing whether you may be missing a critical area.

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
Keep in mind too that 88-91 Suburban/K5 harness connectors are different from 73-87 pickups too. You would either need to splice each wire by color or locate the proper male/female connector bodies-and you would still need to integrate the rear doors as well.

Re: F/S: 73-87 power window relay harness
So do you have the entire harness for sale. I have the connections for both rear doors?? I still want to do the express switches also
