well doesnt a 208 have a vss output? the truck has to get its speedo drive from some wheres.

looks like you can buy what you need to make it work for under 300 from aa or use the stock one off a newer truck for 70 bucks. if your parting a newer truck you should be able to grab the adapter and everything. changing to a 241 you going to still need the adapter. or you would have to swap pre 96 4l60e which is going to be harder to do. you can adapt a th350 for the vss in ls1 so you should be able to add the vss you need for this. will need a electric speedo though.

There are adapters that create a VSS signal out of a mechanical speedometer drive.

That Dakota Digital piece looks trick. That should work, but I would try to mate a 4L60E to your 208 case.
I used the JTR 2PRS when I did the TBI swap in my old '74; it worked well.
