Re: Project Orgasmic Ebony

Welcome to the board. I like the 67-68 front end too.

Just making sure,. .. you know your core support, hood latch, grille support and front splash pan changes too with the 67-68 clip. Are you going to remove the rear marker lights?

Alright you guys here is my newest part for Miss Orgasmic Ebony, it's a 67-68 radiator/core support, it certainly isn't the prettiest part but it does have importance

I remember seeing that truck here in Topeka and being for sale. It was my old boss's son that owned it.

Re: Project Orgasmic Ebony

Just read through this. This is a good looking truck. Noticed you want to go with Ride Tech. That was my first decision, but have changed my mind. I have a thread started in the racing section with the title of "RideTech" and I have found from other members that there are other companies who sale the same thing, but comes with a different front cross member for added clearance for a way cheaper price.

Although I am no sales man by any means and not trying to talk you out of your decision, I do although think you should look at other companies.

Re: Project Orgasmic Ebony

Welcome to the board.
Great project.
I would suggest you fit and finish all the aftermarket front sheetmetal together on the truck prior to paint.
They look good on sawhorses painted to perfection,... but have been know not to fit very well together.
Even worse combined with oem sheetmetal.

I agree on checking out other suspension sources.
The rear isn't that big of deal,... but the front needs an aftermarket crossmember (Porterbuilt) to get you the needed ground clearance of a low coilover setup, since you don't have the adjustability of air bags.

I guess I could do porterbuilt on the front suspension and do ridetech on the rear

I remember this truck was for sale on Kansas City craigslist. It used to have some dice that looked like cherry's on the doors. Here is a video I found of it.

Re: Project Orgasmic Ebony

I did the same thing on my '68 shortbed project, took off the 72 front end and put on the '67 clip I had laying around. BEST decision ever, looks awesome. That's a solid truck you've got there.

Re: Project Orgasmic Ebony

aftermarket fenders aren't that bad you can bend the metal a little and use a lot of shims. I will never buy aftermarket doors again.......I never had on that I didn't have to bend to make it fit. And if you do use aftermarket door and your planning on new weather stripping, fit new doors and weather stripping at the same time and buy the good weather stripping or you may never get the door to fit. And if your planning on new weather stripping and keeping the same doors fit the new weather stripping in before you paint cause your doors might not shut the whole way with new stripping. sorry for ranting

Another option for front and rear coil overs.
