Re: Motorcycle to go with C10

I'd go with a early '70's dirt bike...
Maybe it's because I remember dirt bikes more so that street bikes being associated with these trucks back in the days when they were popular.

For me the Honda Elsinore, and the Maico 250 bring back fond memories for me in the CA desert and at Newhall MC park. All while sitting on the tail gate of a Chevy drinking a soda, and the smells of two stroke and gasoline...

Ahh, the good ol' days.

It's a great bike the last pic was me trying it out at the dunes I had so many people asking about it and got a a lot of complements riding it. I always love these vintage Mx race bikes.

The 73 Honda Elsinore 250 will go down in history as the first Japanese production race bike that ended European domination in the sport.

Re: Motorcycle to go with C10

My choice because I own one, 1985 Yamaha RZ 350, but to go era correct go early '70's Yamaha RD 350.

2-smokes are nuthing but kewl.

I thought about this bike too, that was back before 3 wheelers were in my group of friends but I do remember sportsters and Dynas from that era, I have a late model Dyna I put the early badges on and a early finder. I think it looks good with the old truck and my 1st gen Nova.
I think that 1980 Yamaha 650 bobber looks cool too.

wow DT1, that DT1 is beautiful!
my father had one with that same paint scheme, if I recall correctly he paid $850.00 with a freight charge from TX to Los Angeles. He used to put my younger brother and I on the tank infront of him and my older sister behind him and take us for a "put-put"
I have so many memories of my old man schooling my older brothers and older cousins on his "ol motorsackle" out in the desert! wish I could get my hands on it! thanks for sharing!

Re: Motorcycle to go with C10

Well, as my handle implies, a Hawg looks best. I don't have any pics on one in my truck, as I'm still getting it ready to haul them. I restore wrecked Harleys for a hobby, and that's the main reason I bought my '67 lb. It just fits a full sized bagger. This is the last one I rebuilt and still ride to work every day it doesn't rain, (2009 FLHTCUI Flame Blue Pearl). And the one I did before that one(2003 RoadKing Gunmetal Pearl). I just need to get my bags on the back so it's easier to load them when I get them.

Re: Motorcycle to go with C10

A 1968 Sportster XLCH with a magneto ignition, big rear sprocket, high rider exhaust pipes and aggressive knobby tires. Thats what used to ride in the back of my dads 69 fleetside when we used to go out to the deserts of California. Just about the only Harley you can carry in the back of your truck and not get ribbed about it.
