I am running 17"x8" wheels on the front with 4" of backspacing. The tires are 255/50/17 Nitto NT-450's. I have not observed any rubbing.

On the rear I am running 17"x9.5" wheels with 6" of backspacing and 275/50/17 Nitto NT-450 tires. The rear axle is from a 72 model, so it is wider than the 1969 rear axle. There is only about 1" of clearance between the back of the tire and the fender well on both sides. If I had to do it over again, I would use rear wheels with 5" of backspacing as a cushion and to bring the wheels out closer to the bedside for a "nicer" look.

That truck just looks "right" to me! I personally prefer that look over 20"+ wheels. It still looks like a truck, but updated.

Wanting some new wheels and tires on my 67. So what exactly are you going with on the wheels, and how much backspace did you decide you need to make it all work?? Still staying away from spacers? Thanks

Yeah, I've located a couple of 71/72 rear axles. They're 1.5" (0.75" per side) wider than the 67-70 axles. If you still have 6 lug, your wheel options are pretty limited. Are you converting to 5 lug disc brakes, etc? I'm converting mine to 5 lug (installed disc brakes years ago with ECE 6 lug rotors).

JRDV,
I'm running the same size wheel front and back but hate the size tires I choose and need to change them. What size and brand tires are you running?
Thanks,

Thanks,
295/45/20 and 255/45/18 Toyo Proxes. I wish I could go a little wider in the back!

I've got the 5 lug disc conversion on the front and still have the stock 6 lug axels on the back. Was thinking of switching out internals with a Jegs conversion for 5 lugs, but that wouldn't widen anyting. Was wondering what my stock back space is.

Re: Anyone running 18x7 & 18x9 showwheels streeters?

Best thing would be to remove a rear wheel, use a straight edge up into the wheel well off the face of the drum where the wheel mounts and then measure to the inner bedside to see how much BS there could be. Don't forget to leave wiggle room for suspension travel and tire width (tire's stick out past the rims on the sides!) I was reading that the max BS you should run is around 4.5-5" with the narrower rear ends without using a spacer?
