Re: 87 SWB ..Pearl..

Cleaned, sanded and painted the vents. I used the felt side of some small Velcro stickies to keep the vents from sagging.

Re: 87 SWB ..Pearl..

New door hinges installed, and door adjusted.
[IMG][/IMG]

I have seen several posts where someone could not replace the top hinge and would only replace half of it. The only thing you have to do is remove the drivers side air vent and the bolt is just through the hole in the fire wall. Mine has a plug I removed and the bolt was pretty easy to get too.

Another coat of primer and 10 more hours of sanding and the cab is white. Next comes the clear and more hours of wet sanding..

Looking good. Nice work!

I found a good way to keep the A/C vents from falling down. I put an o-ring on each side and they are nice and smooth and stay put now.

The o ring is a good idea. I had not thought about that.

Thanks, I always forget how tedious body work is until I get back into it.

I use to have turn downs like that on a cutlass years ago. I end up putting them pointing on a 45 degree angle because they sturred up alot of dust and also the resonated really back turned towards the ground.

Re: 87 SWB ..Pearl..

These 40's are not too loud., I have seen a lot of square guys dump then like this. I planned to have them dump out just before the wheels and have the pipes cut diagonal with the body. I will most likely take it back and have that done later after I get the bed on.

Thank you Clayton, I am trying to do most of the work myself. Man, this cold weather is certainly keeping things slow going. I have yet to wet sand and buff the cab, waiting for a nice weekend. Still have to do the bodywork on the hood, the painted piece below the grill, the bed, and the tailgate. I found a decent tailgate and bed so I hope there wont be two months of work, maybe a month.. lol.
