Re: 47 chevy 2 ton question
I had a resistor just like yours and checked before and after it with a multi-meter. There was absolutely no difference in the voltage on mine with or without the resistor.

Re: 47 chevy 2 ton question
Everything is replaced except for the condensor. But it should be getting spark. Does everything look correct? Ignition hot > ballast > + coil (wire also from + coil to condensor). - coil to ground on block > ground? On distributior. (It's a nut and bolt on back of the dizzy. Is this a ground?) Can someone send me a picture of their setup please?

Re: 47 chevy 2 ton question
The hot side of the coil should be coming from the ignition and the negative should be the one going to the distributor. Sorry, didn't catch that in your first picture of the coil and distributor. Move your wire going to the distributor to your negative side of coil and remove the wire from negative straight to ground and you should be firing.

Re: 47 chevy 2 ton question
What's the order that the spark plugs go in? I got a faint spark off the coil wire just now. Also could it be the points contact by the condensor? Isn't that supposed to be gapped?

Re: 47 chevy 2 ton question
If the points are new, they should be .019 or nineteen thousandths fully open.
