Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
I'm getting my grille support ready for media blasting. Fixed a couple of dents today. This was the worst of them. If I can do it - so can you! When I get scared about trying stuff I have never done before I hafta keep reminding myself - it's a truck, not a Ferrari!
Just heat the metal. Bang on it. Heat. Bang bang bang. Heat. Bang bang bang.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
I picked up another truck today for parts. It's a GMC, but as far as I know most stuff is interchangeable.
It has the original GMC 305 V6. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Finished installing my Porterbuilt rear suspension kit, and picked a cool grill off a C50 at the junk yard. Still had a T3 sealed beam on one side.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Changed out modified 700r4 transmission pan for a stock one that did not leak, now the garage floor is clean. Also closed off the blazer fuel tank vents so it no longer smells up the garage. Wife is now happy (or is that really possible.)
Started cleanup on LT1 TPII engine, installed kit to relocate A/c compressor, alternator etc so we can transplant engine using stock 350 motor mounts without modifying the frame........will change engine as soon as we figure out wiring adaptation.....Kieth |

Flipped, shaved, & clearanced my crossmember. Not owning a plasma cutter this was to much work with only a sawzall and cut off wheels. I will buy a aftermarket one if there is a next time.

It must be nice to find trucks around that have not rotted away back into the ground. Up here in the northeast salt and scrappers have got them all.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Not so much to, but with....
Well, it is winter, and we have had the wettest January since 1909 when records were begun. Today Nicola and I decided to take the truck out for a decent run as we both have a bit of cabin fever, and deliver mate Martin the latest copy of Classic American (we subscribe to different mags and swop after reading them) So we made a few stops at Chatham Dockyard where we were chased away by security........ Then off to the yacht basin to get a few pics. I have been looking for a decent photo of the truck to enlarge to about 1200mm X 1500mm for my study, to replace the Super Hero wall I have there at the moment. Not sure if any of the pics I ended up keeping really make the grade. I may have to look for a better setting at some point. So please give your opinions too. So there went another weekend. Frustrating PotatoBucket !!! Turns pics about. No idea how to overide it, tried rotating in files. Last try

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
grizz, in almost all your shots, you are making the same mistake: there is something in the background "growing" out of your subject matter. Beams, signs, tugboats, barges, you've got it all! Try and frame the shot so the subject matter is the focus, not blending into the background, for example, the picture of the blue glass building with a red truck in front. Make sure that there are no obstructions "growing" out of the subject matter. Hope this makes sense.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
I didn't want to install battery taps, so I put a 150 amp bus bar under the hood and a fuse block under the dash. A set of dash switches goes in next so I can hook up the aftermarket washer bottle with built-in pump and a set of driving lights.
