Re: if you could go back to 67-72..

My dad was a car salesman back in those years. He sold GMC, Chrysler, and Plymouth. I turned 8 in 67. So if I could go back in time I would go back and be the same age I was. But this time I would keep all the promo stuff his boss gave us kids, and lots of cool stuff the salesmen got to have.

We had promo cars and trucks. Tons of literature, coins, sales aids ... tons of cool Rapid Transit System stuff. Giant posters. I remember we had a 3 dimensional plastic road runner, I think it was two or three feet tall.

Then I could have it now ... all pristine, and I wouldn't be any older than I am now.

Re: if you could go back to 67-72..

I wouldn't be able to order what I want.

I would want a "loaded" 1971/72 big block short bed, but with a 67 CST body/chrome.

Then I would take it to Yenko and see what he could do with it

Re: if you could go back to 67-72..

I guess if money wasn't an issue I'd be ordering tow vehicles, a 72 Burb and 68 Chevy pickup.

1972 Chev Suburban Custom/Deluxe C10

402, auto trans, posi and 3:42's if possible or with 30 cent a gallon gas 3:73's if that was all that was available

Orange/White/Orange exterior

Highlander package with front buckets and console and the 3rd seat with orange plaid and white trim

Power Steering and Power ( Disc Standard ) Brakes, AM/FM Radio

Front and Rear A/C with tinted glass/windows, Cruise Control and Tilt

Power windows and locks if they were available then.

Trailer Tow Package with factory installed hitch and wiring and front and rear sway bars

The second would be a black 1968 Chev Short Fleet with a 396, Auto trans. with 3:08 gears a front sway bar and rear chrome Sport Bumper.

Power Steering and Power Brakes

A CST package with a wood bed, Buddy Buckets and red trim.

A/C would be nice along with tilt steering and an AM/FM Radio

I think I got them right.

Re: if you could go back to 67-72..

I was there and I did buy a new 72 Cheyenne from Bill Wood Chevrolet (still in business) lwb, 350/350. Orange and white deluxe two tone paint, black interior. I also had a 1970, SS 396, 4 speed Chevelle and the Cheyenne was my work truck. I got a long wheel base because I am in construction. I went to the tire shop and had a set of 8" Appliance wheels put on and drove it to Washington state, down the coast to southern CA and back. I sold it in 1976 to buy a new 4WD, and was sick for days. It took me four years to find another one owner Cheyenne, and I've had at least one, and usually several 67-72's everyday since.

I never grew fond of the 76, Silverado, swb, 4wd, sb 400, loaded.

Anybody remember Appliance wheels?
