Re: Anyone cut 8 inches off the end of the bed without the 12 in the middle?
Thread reminded me of this motivational poster:

A couple of those photoshopped trucks all done up nice and shiny don't look too bad. If you don't whack too much off it works (eating my earlier words lol).
I actually own a bobbed truck, but its a 62 and its a Ford and its a Unibody. I think it looks decent. Not really comparing apples and oranges though.

I found this short-bed bob online. The flatbed on it makes it look tougher, I think.

haha you probably thought it was a huge mistake the first time someone lowered or put bigger wheels on one of these trucks too!

I may have missed it but what was the point of bobbing it?

Re: Anyone cut 8 inches off the end of the bed without the 12 in the middle?
Bobbing a longbed makes the wheelbase look even longer,a step in the wrong direction if you prefer the proportions of the SWB over the LWB. My point was,if you are concerned about losing the better ride of the longbed you will be miles ahead just adjusting your attitude and learn to like the good looks a longbed has in it's own right.
That black C/20 looks good because it is a beefy truck with beefy truck wheels and tires, which all lend them selves to the attractive purpose-built work horse vibe that truck just screams. I looks like the GM version of the later-70s Ford F350 Camper Special pickup, which actually had the long 60" CA frame...approximately the same length as a Longhorn (133" WB),but with an 8' bed

Yikes.... I understood it, but somehow forgot he was saying "without" the 12 inches taken out LOL, so yeah, not for me. But I agree, I don't mind guys hacking up LWB's.... hehehehe

If you did a really nice job it still wouldn't look nice, and if you did a bad job it would just look redneck and I'm a redneck and don't need to look any worse so please don't.

Re: Anyone cut 8 inches off the end of the bed without the 12 in the middle?
There was a guy with a bobbed LWB that was at every Pomona for years. The bob was executed flawlessly, painted a Robyn's Egg blue, lowered, a very nice truck. I could never get used to it, looked way too long. This was in the day when NOBODY did LWB's except my buddy Greg of West Coast Camaro , ha-ha[the first Brothers catalog cover truck].

Re: Anyone cut 8 inches off the end of the bed without the 12 in the middle?
The back halving just isn't pleasing to my eye. Long beds are cool, short beds are cool, the hybrids are just funny looking. That flatbed is about the coolest rendition though. Nice that people are taking the time and effort to keep these on the road though.
