Re: exhaust help...

I'm no welder - that's why I have others do mine for me. Having said that, this is the worst example of poor EVERYTHING I have ever seen - poor planning, poor execution and just childish looking results. If it was mine, I would ask the owner of the shop to put my truck on the lift and when it was up there, I would walk under it and look him in the eye and say "....this exhaust system came out of your business........" It would be interesting to see where the conversation goes after that........

Re: exhaust help...

It makes me nervous for you, (if I understood your post correctly) that the kid said he had to take a torch to a cross member to make room?? Definitely get it back on a lift and make sure. Sorry this happened to you bud.

Re: exhaust help...

Got $$ back, gonna finish designing the new setup I want to run , I have a bassani x pipe id like to incorporate.

This time I will be making sure to visually inspect work of the shop rather than just trust a referral before I get it redone

Glad you got your money back! Going with only a referral is very dependent on how picky the referring person is as well as their qualifications to judge.

IOW you would ask a bald guy for the name of his barber.

Re: exhaust help...

He sat there and said that it looked good to him when it was on the lift and that the sharp angle wouldn't hurt flow and had to be run like that for clearance because the exhaust was run through the crossmember, then offered to fix that part if I really wanted him to.

I'm a firm believer if it couldn't get done right by a shop the first time theres a good chance it won't be done right the second.

Re: exhaust help...

Haha good one gale.
Yeah, the owner seemed like he was afraid to call out his worker for the hack job .

Man I'm astounded by how many businesses out there pull this kind of nonsense.
Oh well , lesson learned and ill start working on finding a new exhaust shop

I just picked my truck up, simple setup, dual 2.5" from my headers, to turn downs before the rear axle. Well I was recommended to this shop, the owner (who I thought was doing the job)
Wasn't there today, an employee of his was only one there. When I dropped the truck off I thought the guy was simply opening up the shop , it was 9am, when the place opens.

Some stuff just looked odd to me

Driver side header/flange/exhaust
Almost mated up at a 90 degree

Passenger side

Behind muffler where turndown is

There are hardly any bends required i got under and looked.its straight back through the crossmember.
Heck man i am a pilot welder and those look like crap, I would not let that out of my shop, for others to see with your name on it sad .
