There is a guy on Craigslist selling a bed in NY. I can't find the ad.. CL is running kind of slow. But I texted him to see if he had anything else (he did not).

His name is Matt and his cell is 914-204-3423. Text and see if he still has it. He was asking $1600 which might be a bit steep, but maybe you can talk him down. If I find the ad, I will edit the post and paste the link.

Found the Craigslist Link. He is actually in CT, which is why I had trouble finding it. http://nwct.craigslist.org/pts/4262790791.html

Re: Local NJ trucks

I actually bought my 71 C10 somewhere in Southern NJ. Probably paid too much for it, or at least I thought so at the time after I saw all the hidden rust when I took it apart. It amazes me how they can look so nice while hiding so much rot.

Fithead: Thanks for the info on the swap meet. It's about a 2 hour drive, but I am always interested in seeing what stuff I can find locally. I usually head up to Rhinebeck each year in May and pick up some stuff. Do you think the Woodstown show is worth a 2 hour drive?

MidLifer: E-town meets? Where and when are those?

Is your truck up and running?

I actually drove past you today to visit a client. Waaaayyyy past you - to Arkville, NY which is pretty much in the middle of nothing and nowhere.

Sometimes you have to wonder how many vehicles for sale in NJ were involved in Hurricane Sandy and have hidden issues.

Re: Local NJ trucks

Hey Sicklajoie, yeh man wonder. There was something like 650,000 damaged trucks and cars in the tri-states, New Jersey New York Connecticut, some 200,000 from Jersey alone . The insurance lots for the damage vehicles in N.J. were so full they had to bring something like 55,000 and use the parking lot of OLD BRIDGE Englishtown Racway Park. (E-Town). Any old vehicle which I hear not many, could be clean up if done right away (gut-ted) and saved , not like the new stuff with all the B-S in them. And yes car dealers got busted trying to sell damage ones, the used car dealer up the road from me for one got busted, who knows how many went were in the country.

Thanks for the heads up. Actually looking at pulling the trigger for an entirely new bed pan from LMC. I intend on putting a fiberglass cover on the bed so it doesn't have to be pretty inside, just solid which it is not..... Lots of holes. However I haven't spent any $$$ yet so I'll look this guy and see what he has! Going to be setting up to pull the bed and dog house in a couple weeks and get the truck in my garage. Gotta love having a garage!

Re: Local NJ trucks

I'm in for a meet. I'll have a ton of Suburban parts in the spring too, That is if the snow ever goes away. I went to visit my 70 4WD yesterday and just sat in it for a half hour. The 68 is covered in snow. Never got a chance to cover it.

Re: Local NJ trucks

My 72' will be in pieces for most of the summer, guess I would have to drive some of my other GM sheet metal to a truck gathering...

Re: Local NJ trucks

From Randolph myself.

No truck yet, but I've been looking around for a '67 or '68 C10, and I've been noticing a lot more old Chevy's and GMCs since. There's a service station in Dover that has an orange 68 GMC as a plow truck.

GearsFC3S, "Go West young man". Hard to find them around here that aren't rusted to sh&t. Easy enough to ship from the dry desert. West-to-east shipments are going for a bargain these days, says my broker, owing to the ongoing exodus of Sandy salvage.

I see that one all the time Gears. He has had that one for a while. Just down 46 in Mine Hill there is a K20 at a used car lot. The owner of the lot uses it as his plow truck. Looks like a recent repaint in green. Has a GMC nose and a Chevy bed. Looks like a really nice truck. There is a blue 71 long bed 4WD behind a garage on Franklin Ave near the entrance for Morris Knolls HS too. Go bang on the door!
