Re: What Steering Wheel
Mine has a grant when I got it and the column was broken and floppy with bad bearings. Found a complete one with a good wheel and put it back to stock. I just really like the stock look.

Re: What Steering Wheel
The deal with other than OEM wheels is to find one that doesn't have a lot of "dish" to it. Some that look really cool have so much dish that it positions the wheel too close to the driver's gut. Camaro and Vega 4 spoke wheels work well. My Vette wheel on my 68 Camaro has too much dish, but the one in the pic below is perfect. Anyone know what the application is? I copied this pic off the forum, its a member's truck. I apologize for not documenting the owner

Junk Yard $15. from mid 80's maybe. Not a big fan but it's quite a bit smaller

I'm going to replace it with one of the 88-94 wheels as Tony just posted above. (had a 94 Yukon and always liked that wheel). |

RW, That's the one I put on mine and it's great. Just the right size.

Looks like Corvette wheel, but not a Corvette horn button. I use them in all my cars. Have one in my Blazer.

Re: What Steering Wheel
I don't know what kind of steering wheel this is, it was on it when I bought it. It's a very small diameter and I don't really like it. I like the thickness of the grip, but not the diameter. I can tell you that the nut wasn't there when I bought it, so it slid off real easy. I bought the nut to hold it on, but it wouldn't go on, so I had to get a thread cutter and re-cut the threads, then I was finally able get it tight.

Re: What Steering Wheel
I got a comfort grip wheel at a swap meet. Its an original one that isn't sticky. I ordered the 67-68 camaro hub and it fits great. I would recommend bending the turn signal lever towards the dash a little as my knuckles touch it sometimes.

Re: What Steering Wheel
Comfort Grip from a 69 Camaro. I would have been happy with the original but when I bought my truck is had a ****ty 4 spoke Grant aftermarket wheel in it. It was small, like 12.5" in diameter, completely flat as in no dish, with the big adapter hub and it was wrapped in electrical tape.

Re: What Steering Wheel
Here's my current set up. I had a tilt column rebuilt and painted saddle and added a NOS saddle wheel.

Thanks Kev! You're the man!
I love it! KevsClassics (one post up) built the column - excellent work!

Re: What Steering Wheel
That saddle wheel looks GREAT!!
I have a white burb with parchment interior with sandalwood dash and rubber mats, wondering if the wheel should also be sandalwood or saddle like yours. Anyone have pics of the saddle repro wheel from brothers? Feedback? Thanks |

With a sandalwood dash you likely had a sandalwood or saddle column unless the burb was outfitted with a tilt column, in which case the column and wheel were black. What year is the burb and what's the interior code on the SPID?

Re: What Steering Wheel
Nice! Saddle...
EDIT: Sorry, that may be "light saddle" (sandalwood) as opposed to mine which is dark saddle. I don't have my brochure listing factory interior colors at the moment. Similar to this one here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...01&postcount=7
