Re: 66 short in Australia
Hey Buzz, maybe it was a panel shop telling me that, thought it sounded funny at the time.....
these trucks are hard to beat in red, blue, silver, and turquoise. I would like to paint mine that dark metallic green that came on EH premiers back in the day....or silver mink with some pearl added like a 68 monaro I once owned |

Re: 66 short in Australia
also went 5hrs last weekend and picked up a 327sbc..casting numbers came up as 65-67 2 bolt so spot on for a 66.it has polished resized rods, factory steel crank and trw 10-1 forgies, neutral balance.came with ported and 2.02 valve double hump fuelies already with screw in studs...no cam-looking at comp cams 4x4 extreme series.looking at making 350hp and good torque...i like the 327/fuelie combo..bit old school..could make a bit more with 350 and more modern heads...but big hp is not the object this time..i paid $1200 if anyone interested...came with twin row timing chain, new mellings oil pump and full felpro gasket kit...need sump and pick up,cam/lifters,balancer and flex plate..i already have script rocker covers, speedway ram horns, early air filter and edelbrock manifold with filler neck...cheers

Re: 66 short in Australia
G'day...time for an update...moved house Last September....then started work on pickup...first I painted doors and guards in hi fill ...3 times I sprayed and blocked them out to get them straight...Xmas time I started building a new shed to work in....7.2m x 7.2m.....just big enough...took cab off and built a dolly to roll it around on..started to strip floor...have got a few more parts....got a mint tailgate off ebay and a 65 corvair steering wheel....try to post pictures, but no good!using an iPad and seems it does not copy the photobucket link correctly....any tips?cheers
