I asked the same question to two vinyl installers about wrapping a primer truck. The first installer said it could be done but it wouldn't look good. The installer I chose, Vinyl Ink, said no problem, as long as the primer is "paint" ready, which mine was.

I will keep the forum up to date on how the wrap holds up. If I get 5 years out of it, I will be happy. The roof and the hood will be the first to show signs of wear. I plan on having my daughter wash and wax it at least once a month. It is HER truck...which means I will probably be doing it more than her

Hey guys, not to jack this tread, but this is what i do for a living, Check out facebook.com/sthgraphics you can wrap over primer, but what you see b4 the wrap, you will see after... just like paint. you cannot wrap over bondo!! they did a really good job!!! the think i always have to fight about, is the "400 maco" job... wrapping a street car is an art!!!! you get what you pay for!! 2200 is very fair price, especially in cali!

The wrap is holding up very well. The truck was garaged mostly for the past year and a half but now is in the elements more since my wife's car took priority over the C10. You definitely get what you pay for and my installer did an awesome job. I will probably be selling the truck this summer and the next owner can go back to primer and paint it or wrap it again without the hassle of stripping paint and the cost that goes with that.

I hope this helps out anyone who was looking into wrapping their truck.
