Stock wheelbase but we shortened the bed and frame after the rear fenders.

Re: 1958 3200 Long Bed 5.3l/Jag IFS

How low will it be from stock height with the jag stuff mounted under the frame?

Re: 1958 3200 Long Bed 5.3l/Jag IFS

It's hard for me to say. I did not measure the height with the beam axle and we have already removed a coil from the jag springs.

Re: 1958 3200 Long Bed 5.3l/Jag IFS

We decided to go ahead and paint the interior. It was the first time I have done a larger scale paint project so it took longer than expected. It is not perfect, but I am happy for a first go at it. The color is subaru ice silver. I wanted something with a bit more black than the factory silver and I think it works. I also went ahead and used some black epoxy on the fender liners, and will be doing the same to the firewall once we figure out what holes need to be filled.

I finished the exhaust with 2.5" mandrel bends and 22" magnaflow mufflers. I wish it could be symmetrically spaced, but just does not make sense with the trans servo and driveshaft angle for the offset diff on the ford 8.8. I may add a crossover if there is alot of rasp once its running.

Re: 1958 3200 Long Bed 5.3l/Jag IFS

Thanks

I helped my dad with the weather stripping on the doors this evening. He is going to install the seals, glass, lock/glass mechanisms this week. I need to get the transmission rebuilt so it and the motor can go back in one last time.

Re: 1958 3200 Long Bed 5.3l/Jag IFS

The transmission came back from getting rebuilt so we began the final powertrain install. My dad also finished building out the doors. The cab should be going on next week some time so we can begin the wiring.

I welded in the O2 bungs and finished painting the exhaust this evening. It is now back on the chassis for the final time.

I decided to go ahead and fill some holes in the firewall before painting it and dropping the cab on the chassis.

Re: 1958 3200 Long Bed 5.3l/Jag IFS

Firewall is done along with some other small interior pieces that needed to be black.

I also pushed the chassis out to clean it off and get an image before the cab goes back on.

Re: 1958 3200 Long Bed 5.3l/Jag IFS

My dad painted the seat frame and installed the cover. He said the fit was not that great with the brand of cover we used, but I think it turned out alright. He also picked up some new hardware for the door cards and installed those.

We also got the chassis and engine harness fuse panels mounted under the dash and figured out the pass through for the chassis harness. Once some trans cooler line fittings show up we can bend those then drop on the cab finish up the external wiring.

I put a Jag under my '57, and the Jag springs were way too stiff. Even with the motor and front sheetmvetal, it was on the upper bumpstops. I pulled it from an '87 XJ6, and the XJ12 is supposed to have even stiffer springs, so I don't know how it will end up for you.

I just decided that the best thing for mine would be to airbag it, since I have always wanted bags anyway.

Re: 1958 3200 Long Bed 5.3l/Jag IFS

The cooler fittings showed up this afternoon and I just finished bending the hard lines up to the cooler. Tomorrow I will get some heat sleeve on the cooler lines near the exhaust and then we can drop the cab on.

My dad also installed some of the adhesive sound insulation and got the cowl vent doors and cables in.

We had the same issue on a 55 f100 we put one of the aluminum block LS motors in. It was on the top bump stops like yours so we ended up bagging it.
