Well i was all set to put that big bumper on Shot the sides off so it didnt extend out and then went to grease up the installed bumper and then my luck hit. That mother TRUCKER is welded on!!!!! Not a couple welds but full bead about a foot on top and bottom to the frame... So i got pissed and decided ill make my own GD bumper. I chopped the steps of it then cut the straight piece. Notched it out, welded it to the sides of the bumper, and grinned on it some. Now i need to wire wheel it and hit it with some hammered finish

Also burnt myself doing so. Short sleeves and shorts as usual and i grab my sawzaw blade too soon to remove it and burnt my finger. That hurt like a mutha

Re: 68 Long Stepper Build - Chyna

I really like how it turned out. Just smoother to me. Would of never though of this if it wasnt for your old thread. Plus i couldnt find lights that would fit the bumper the way i wanted. Now i just need to wire wheel the bumper and put a hammered finish on it

Re: 68 Long Stepper Build - Chyna

and of course the tail gate is slanted on one side and a pain in my ass but i drilled holes and welded the latches on. No MORE CHAINS!!! Aint pretty but beats the $100 MAR-K price... I paid $5.99 each plus shipping for these

Dide some research and this is what people have put in there trucks for modern comfort
97 GMC Denali - Middle seat
99-'06 Chevy/GMC seats
99 Dodge Ram Seats

Re: 68 Long Stepper Build - Chyna

Well i had kind of decided i wanted the truck in the original patina if it was the darker blue i thought it was.. So i took easy off oven cleaner and hit it. Let it sit for awhile and took a razor blade to it... The cab is the nice blue....the bed is a pastel aqua...BLAH! Eventually i will just paint the truck

Re: 68 Long Stepper Build - Chyna

Attached the new driver side spray nozzle and hooked up the blazer resevoir/electronic pump to it. Works great, just need a T and some hose to hook up the other side

Painted the rear bumper black

and the area above the windshield is nice and smooth now
