Impressive! I like your style Jon. So much hot rod/performance influence and you still install correct oem tailgate chains, big eared rad caps, factory seat cloth, etc.

The one in the dash I bought here in the classifieds. The plugs in the firewall for the heater core are store bought.

Yes on both counts. The PS brackets though I had to shorten or it puts the pump up against the inner fender.
It sure does !!!!

THANK YOU !!
right now 6 inch drop rear springs and 235-70 15 rear tires, front 2 1/2 spindles, 2 inch small block springs and 215-70 15 tires. Originally was putting a SB in it. Would still like to drop the rear just a little more.

Heres a few pictures from the show Sunday, the fawn 63 truck belongs to another member here. The orange truck is a 327 PG truck and the green 65 Camper Special was nice to see with its og split rims !

Do you remember where you bought the plugs in the firewall? I can't find them anywhere. Thanks for the info.

Im a big fan of keeping them the way they were on those types of details, just looks right. I almost wish this would have been a blue firewall truck but it came with the interior color from the factory.

Yes, just a couple of weeks ago at Ace Hardware in the nut and bolt department.

Thanks Man ! Coming from another 63 nut that's quite a compliment ! Glad you brought up SOUND. It goes in for exhaust on the 16th. I want it relatively quiet but a good sound. There's not a lot of room as exhaust will run above the cross member for trans and through all other cross members. Thinking of Flowmaster 50 series but even that may be to loud ? Need opinions ? PS... Thanks for the eBay link on those mirrors, that's what on here

Re: Finished my 1963 SWB

Glad a few members have gotten those mirrors....closest thing to NOS chevy that I have seen. Although technically they are NOS in their own application. Some of the smallest details can stand out the best. I ended up going with 2.5" for my big block build after talking with Dynomax and comp cams....was what they suggested for the way we built the engine. Both said 3" would be excessive for my build and just make it louder and lose low end torque....so 2.5" from headers back is what I got.

I also like the delete plates. I am bad myself with getting tons of NOS/OEM accessories when the reality is a lot of these trucks were bare bones trucks. Its nice to see a resto-mod where trucks looks original minus some drivetrain upgrades and safety features.

Re: Finished my 1963 SWB

Sorry, but at the risk of a temporary thread derail, what's the story on that sweet '65 Custom Camper? What a beaut! I'll guess the same owner as that bone-stock green stepside you've posted in the past. That owner needs to be a member here!

No problem on the derail. open to any relevant discussion. I talked to him last year at this show when he saw a red 66 CC I had . Told me then he was reinstalling the split rims back on the truck. He actually assembled the wheels in his backyard himself with chains and had zero problems. Scary ! Nice truck, 292 etc . Its not as well detailed as my buddy Bryans stepside but still a very nice truck. Bryon is a VCCA member and is much more involved in teens and 20s 30s vehicles. Every time I meet one of these guys I bring up this forum.

That booster is from a 1966 Impala, you do have to drill 4 holes to make it work but Ive done it several times and they work great. Looks similar to stock.

Thanks for posting the extra show photos 60-66. Maybe, I should go to car shows again or move to an area that appreciates the stockers more. The '65 Camper Special is what I live for. The fawn '63 would be a great candidate for a 100% stock restoration also.

Re: Finished my 1963 SWB

Little update, lowered the rear another 1 1/2 today . That's about as low as it will go in the rear. Total of 7 1/2 inches now. Have about 2 1/2 - 3 inches before it hits the wood bed. First two are before, last are after.

After
