Re: 1977 K10 Silverado Longbox
I would guess they were trying to add a drain plug to the pan but kept messing it up.

Re: 1977 K10 Silverado Longbox
Finally got a new radiator. Did I say finally? I went with the 4 core which my original one was a 3 core so the top support brace and shroud doesn't exactly fit. I plan to go by the j yard today to find the parts from a 4 core setup. Also took her up to the store yesterday. First drive in 2 months! Quite refreshing! Back in the saddle again boys.

Re: 1977 K10 Silverado Longbox
Started working on the door panel and all the old broken plastic. Did a little fix on the handle trim ring. Sanded off the broken plastic knobs, drilled a pilot hole, and Gorilla Glued in some threaded rod!

Re: 1977 K10 Silverado Longbox
Drove the truck up to the gas station up the street and got a few shots of my inspiration. The owner 'Satch" bought his K10 new. It says 76 on the plate in the door jam but he swears its a 77. Also he has 79 front trim on her. 400ci and Cheyenne package. Pretty sweet! Ill be doing some work on mine this weekend so ill have some build pics next week.

Re: 1977 K10 Silverado Longbox
Changed out the cab and radiator mounts this past weekend. Ill say its a bit firmer on the ride and leveled the truck out better. Wasn't too much of a pain to do either. I bought a small tub of lithium grease to help with the install. Ill post some pics of them installed 2morrow. Here are the old ones which were wasted and how I did it. Tranny mount are next as you can see!

Re: 1977 K10 Silverado Longbox
The bottom rocker was slightly bent before as you can see from past pics. I wasn't from the jacking. Didn't want to scare anyone although it is Halloween!

Re: 1977 K10 Silverado Longbox
Ill get some shots of the shaft back in this evening. I'll also hit the rear end with some paint as I degreased it with a wire brush and it needed to dry.

Re: 1977 K10 Silverado Longbox
Nice work! What size are your new BFG's? I think that's one of the few tires you can still get in a 32x11.00x15. I would like to get some for my truck.
In your first set of pictures is your gauge bezel faded or scratched up? The reason I ask is I have a pretty decent one hanging in my garage that I have no use for. I no longer have the truck I was going to put it in. |
