Re: 50 GMC Junk Yard Dawg
Well, got the bracket finished up.
going to fit it to the frame one more time just to make sure, then it's waiting time for the steering connecting bits to arrive. I won't permanently attach that bracket to the frame until the whole steering assembly is together and aligned properly. pick a peck a pick a peck a little as you go...and plenty of ===>

Re: 50 GMC Junk Yard Dawg
Do you think that unit might fit under the dash?
EDIT: like this file:///Users/russbrennan/Downloads/657240%202in%20Column%20220-360%20Electra-Steer%20Kit.pdf

Re: 50 GMC Junk Yard Dawg
Hi there. that link doesn't work.
If I was running a stock steering column I could merge it under the dash. since I am using a 80's type tilt column there is no room. the best way would be to toss this column and go with one that will allow me to mount this under the dash. but mounting this off the frame rail makes it really easy to access if needed. thanks, if you can repost a working link. Brian

Re: 50 GMC Junk Yard Dawg
yes that is very similar to the way people have also mounted this unit that I have. I am reconsidering moving it to under the dash.
not much to post lately, just a lot of thinking and burning up brain cells figuring this out.

Re: 50 GMC Junk Yard Dawg
putting the eps on hold, getting to close to spring!
Just picked up the rear axle up from the rebuild shop. rebuilt the brakes while I was at it, new poly bushings etc. went with 3:08's to bring down the rpm's on the highway. Another good reason to have a flat bed, you can use it as a work bench! wha la!

Re: 50 GMC Junk Yard Dawg
as a matter of fact,
redid the engine mounts, headers and exhaust. stained the bed. picked up a bed box for it. so i am planning on converting it to a real bed. prolly fenderless. pics on the way...
