Wow. Learn something new. Good thing I didn't bet on not appearing in 3/4 tons. Bet that had a very low take rate.
Notice applicability is diesels and 4.3 / 5.0 gas, low torque / hp values. Also I suspect most, if not all the 4wd applications were iron case. Then the only issue would be the shaft strength which behind those engines shouldn't be an issue.

Yes,the 4wd version is a cast iron case....At least the ones I have are.

I recently purchased a MY6/A833 that came out of a C-20 with a 6.2 Diesel, it had a cast iron case with an aluminum tail shaft.
Another unit that I purchased that came out of a 4x4 had a cast iron case also. |
