Those parts look to be in good shape to match your burb

Re: My '66 Suburban
Consider drop spindles with discs for the front of your rig! I have a '66 Truck with the 2.5" drop spindles up front and 3" drop springs in the back, came out perfect and it stops on a dime! I also have 18" wheels in front and 20" in back with matched tires so that contributes to the rake on mine. My dad's '66 Burb in the background is stock. I'm about 3.5 inches lower at the front bumper than him, still the same ground clearance as my stock Subaru though!

Re: My '66 Suburban
A 3/5 should be pretty easy with rear springs and drop spindles in the front. The spindles will help keep a better ride quality and through proper suspension geometry whereas springs can easily throw that off.

Here are the new panels installed. Not an exact color match but fits the patina look I'm going for a lot better.

Re: My '66 Suburban
My suburban has these wierd round pipes welded along the right side and one in the front of the frame. Maybe for a rack of some kind??? Any ideas?

Re: My '66 Suburban
my guess would be for a lumber/glass rack. Many panels had racks on the side for larger glass, lumber or pipes too big to fit inside or on top. Looks like a homemade receiver for a removable unit.

Re: My '66 Suburban
I just saw the same thing on my daughters bike yesterday. I'm pretty sure it's for training wheels.
In all seriousness, I would agree it's a rack mount for something. |

Re: My '66 Suburban
Looks good man.
I love the Patina !! Looks like the engine, brakes, and column might of came from the same donor. Spindle would offer the best ride for sure.

Washed the suburban with CLR and got the front panels matching a lot better! Looking for wheels and tires now. Also registered some 1966 plates for it!
