On second comparison, it looks like a 250 not a 292. Same head though. I will still take a chance if the price is right...

Or you can pull valve cover and you will see part number something like 38-----.

59bones, I pulled out the lmc book and it is a 250ci. I think shipping is going to kill it. Any idea how much one weights?

I tried pulling it tonight, its in good shape. I have the removal tool, but it still wont come off. After fiddling I searched and I guess I need the keys to this, which I don't have. If you know how to get it out w/o the keys, let me know.

Also, since Waylon said he wanted the cab. Any more cab/door parts are off limits from this post on. Other then the ignition bezel and steering wheel, all cab/door parts go to Waylon.

Are the spring plates threaded for a torsion bar and are they for a Dana 44? Thank you, Bruce

Spring plates are for dana 44, but are NOT threaded for swaybar. That's why I swapped them.

I hunted around and finally found a weight of 73lbs on autozone website. Plugged it into UPS at 80lbs and got a $70 alone for shipping.

Looking for an exhaust manifold for the 250 -- if it has a working heat riser (spring intact). Don't need the intake, just the exhaust. Let me know if your going to part out the engine. Thanks, Ken

Thanks for the reply, what price are you asking for the exhaust manifold, shipping to 78737, I was thinking $40 plus shipping.

The heat riser for the 250/292 is built into the exhaust manifold -- here is a picture (borrowed from another member):



note the "corndog" sticking out of the side with the bi-metal spring -- it should move from this position (open - cold) to this position (closed - cold), a total of 90 degrees:



If it moves 90 degrees and the spring is attached and keeping it in the open position then its good.

If you separate the exhaust manifold from the intake, I would like the 3 bolts that hold the two together also.

Could you post a picture back once you get it off.

ok, had a neighbor take it off for me tonight. The heat riser pivots freely, and still has spring on it. Let me go weight it and see what shipping is.

Truck is getting loaded onto a trailer today and to the scrap yard tomm because I will be gone for a while for work.



All little parts I can think might be usefull have been pulled and will post in a misc parts thread when I get back. If you need large items like control arms or something like that, today is the day to speak up.
