Yes it can be. This is what I was using with my efi setup in my truck. But I wanted the in tank A1000.

Did you do the frame rail setup with the corvette regulator? What pump you use and how noisy and hot did it get. Your engine ever starve? I know it's always better for a pump to push out from tank rather than suck frame frame rail.

That is exactly what I did. I ran a walboro 255 external pump. When my truck got below a quarter tank it would start showing signs of starving.
