Re: 64 Rust Bucket Budget Revibe

Got my bullet centers and bullet lug nuts in over the weekend. Yesterday had just enough time to get the centers of the wheels shaved down to make the center caps fit and get the wheels back on. Rolled it out of the shop for the first time in several weeks...

It really does, wild how some white walls, fresh paint on the wheels and lowered can make one look.

Re: 64 Rust Bucket Budget Revibe

Ordered new tail light lenses today to replace the trailer light lenses lol. Plan on getting started on trying to figure out why my 2nd gear wants to pop out and pack to neutral. Pretty sure its a linkage problem but we'll see. Here's another tread I started to help track down the problem...

Re: 64 Rust Bucket Budget Revibe

It looks like a low hump center,, Did you cut the center of the seat frame to make it fit?.. by how much?

I did, actually ended up cutting most of the original Tahoe seat frame up and fabing my own brackets and mounting hardware.

Re: 64 Rust Bucket Budget Revibe

Yes it's from a 92 s10, unfortionately its pulse style speedo and not cable but I'll manage without a speedo for now using a gps. This isn't a truck I drive much, mainly only to car shows and put around town.

Re: 64 Rust Bucket Budget Revibe

Got my jeep input shaft in over the weekend... gotta give credit where credit is due, HUGE thanks for Jay (lugnutz65) for all of his help. He's got a very nice write up on this swap along with basically anything you could ever want to know about t5 transmissions.

His page can be found here, check it out! www.lugnutz65chevystepside.weebly.com

Re: 64 Rust Bucket Budget Revibe

And got this hunk of a 3 speed yanked out last night, was surprised it weighed (or seemed like it to me) more than the t5. Also looks like Im going to plan on replacing the rear main seal while I have the transmission out...

Re: 64 Rust Bucket Budget Revibe

Got the pan off n rear main cap off, also removed the ebrake crossmember to make room for sliding the t5 in. Slowly but surely...

Thanks monte! I believe I'm going to dive back into the front this week and see if I can't get it down another inch or so
