Re: Easy Green

Here is my repair panel. If I were to use this whole piece would I have to do anymore to ac vent area than just cut whole for it? I haven't looked real close at mine yet to see if there are any factory brackets.

Re: Easy Green

Just the cut out for the ac vent to slide in. Behind the dash you have two holes where the studs from the vent will slide into and tighten with nuts.

Re: Easy Green

Here is a better picture of the radio area. I think after starring at it for awhile I have worked up the courage to use entire repair panel. I think there will less welding and an overall smoother finish. I didn't realize how easy it was going to be to take out the AC vent. and with no brackets should be easy enough.

one of the POs left the original rubber floor mat under carpet and after removing that I found a paper like material glued to the floor. Is this factory or did someone come in later and put that in? I scrapped off all of the loose paper and I guess I will leave the rest. I found what looks to be some factory markings on the passenger side under seat. I guess the glue for the paper didn't stick to makings. Cool!

I am overall very happy with what I found under everything. The only serious rust I found was in the lower passenger side kick panel and a small spot under where the door sill plates would sit. everything on the floor is surface and will clean up nicely. Ill take out the rear carpet soon so hopefully no surprises there.

This blazer has an auxiliary gas tank that sits right under the rear seat under the floor. I am thinking about taking it out and changing everything back to factory. It has everything from the tank to hoses to valve to filler neck and a switch so fuel gauge will read it while in use. I'm not sure of brand and its not a saddle tank so not sure if anyone would want it. I personally like it better because it doesn't take up any interior space. Not sure of number of gallons it will hold either. Someone let me know if there is a market for it. I will take some pictures.

Re: Easy Green

Got center AC vent hole cut and put into place. Stuck a couple things in their holes. Surprised myself, it doesn't look half bad. Ready to weld. Have to get welder ready, I ran out of welding gas last time I used it.

Re: Easy Green

Sure makes the most sense welding the whole piece in, have seen a few just try to fix the radio area and really hard to make it look like it wasn't repaired.

Plan on hanging on to it for now. I mostly likely won't put it back on right away. Hate to cover up brand new inner and out grill. I let you know if I change my mind.

I don't even know. It is in near perfect condition. If I had to put a number on it it would be in the $250 range. Like I said I have no intentions of selling a this point.

Re: Easy Green

It has been awhile and the Blazer has done alot of sitting. I dropped the blazer off today to have all of the interior metal painted. He is going to repair the door speakers holes too. Should have it back in January. I'll hopefully post some progress pictures of paint work.

Re: Easy Green

Dash is done! He did a great job!! All new a/c vent and defrost hoses. New glove box liner. New dash cluster, dash pad, ignition bezel. He painted rear wheel tubs. I will not be putting carpet on those. He still has to paint the doors but everything is looking great for this interior makeover. Man I wish I was getting whole thing painted.
