Hi guys! Glad to see you taking the LS leap. That is a very worthwhile swap. I'm in Atlanta as well. 6.0/6-speed swap

yeah man...we have chatted before at a past c&o...i always spot out the c10s that show up. hopin to make most of the swap happen before the end of the year....would be awesome to have it runnin by then, but we shall see how the funding goes since its not exactly the best time of the year to be buyin car parts during the holidays -____- lol

Re: build it in the A:: mint 69 lwb LS swap

spent some hours last nite doing this....... o.0

lol at duct tape under the loom

my stopping point after a sore back/butt from stripping the de-pinned and cut wires. will have some questions pertaining to all that shortly. -_-

but 1 question ill ask now is.......the dbw signal wires on c2/c100.....what to do with those?

Re: build it in the A:: mint 69 lwb LS swap

most def. i've been through your thread and seen your truck so i have enough motivation along with other builds ive browsed in here. just wish i had more money to get more done.....and faster lol.

but last night's update::

got the harness stripped from end to end....only TWO concerns with a couple remaining wires. a blue wire (from c100) goes to the alternator plug....i see a mention of an alt wire going to a pin to bypass a module, but neither color are blue. o.0 and 3 wires dark green, light green and gray (from c2 block) go to the pnp switch........ gonna start searching as to what is needed.
other than that, all my standalone wires are labeled. im gonna lay the harness on the engine to see about relocating the grounds to the back and confirm final fitment before new tape/loom gets put on.

Re: build it in the A:: mint 69 lwb LS swap

so the fedex man dropped this stuff off yesterday

and a pic i took to prove to a friend i really bought a lq4 lol

bought some heat shrink since im on the last bits of the harness mod with the pink wires. i have 3 extras compared to the lt1swap guide (2 from the range switch, 1 from the TAC module connector) so lookin into what is needed to be done with those wires. already know 1 range wire needs power to then power the reverse signal wire.

hunting down an f-body oil pan and new rear main seal and rear cover gasket before i drop the motor in. so ready for this to be done and im just gettin started

Man, you are making some killer progress on the harness. I was scared of it and found a motor with a partial carb set-up so I just went with it. lol

I went with the CPP LS motor mount kit as well. Good stuff there!

Re: build it in the A:: mint 69 lwb LS swap

no real updates, funds are low. all that is left with the harness is the fuse block/relays to be wired up but trying to sort out a couple things before proceding. wishing the lt1swap info was a little more detailed for my 04 harness but now i know what will be needed once its all finished up.....so i can provide a little more info to others with the same questions i have that the site doesnt have info/answers for.

Re: build it in the A:: mint 69 lwb LS swap

hey all, managed to get the front clip cleaned and painted last weekend. 2 cans of oven cleaner and a pressure washer, then degreaser 2x then pressure washer again. hit it with etching primer and satin black paint and now the waiting game....

been trying to score a deal on an ls1 pan setup but nothing solid so i may just end up buying it all new from a friend who works at a cadillac dealer for $267 in total.

just ordered the terminals and relay sockets to finish my harness. i managed to go to pull-a-part saturday and strip out alot of wire from other tahoes but need thicker wire so im about to make an order with wirebarn or whoever for some txl wire. i grabbed the dlc connector for free and got an express van pcm mount for like $2.

Re: build it in the A:: mint 69 lwb LS swap

so i decided to do a test fit today since the weather was pretty nice......and see how all this CPP stuff worked out.

i'm not sure if it is ME or the engine needs to be perfectly centered and level because i was having issues getting the passenger side bolt through once the driver side was in.....the mount would sit about an inch higher than the stand :/

this is how the sliders were mounted...im guessing i did that part right? lol the instructions didnt mention which side faced the front like the stand illustration did. -_-

gave the engine a slight tilt back and the truck pan sits right about an inch below the xmember. the truck manifolds wont work.

and a shot of the pan clearance to the xmember, i could have slid it back more but the stands seemed binded when i sat it down. i had to take the passenger stand loose, put the bolt through then press that side down to get the 2 top frame bolts in...and even then it was tilted looking :/

Looking good! So that's the stock truck pan you're running above that hangs down about an inch? Just wondering how mine will fit.

Re: build it in the A:: mint 69 lwb LS swap

yeah, stock lq4 so i'll prolly end up buying a ctsv pan if i cant scoop up an f-body pan for a good deal. got my wire terminals and relay stuff in yesterday and just ordered a bunch of wire to finish the harness.

In.. Since you're moving a lot faster than me I can just use this a HOW-TO guide. =)
Ideas for a fuel tank and fuel system set up yet? That's where I am at on mine...

Re: build it in the A:: mint 69 lwb LS swap

atleast your drivetrain is bolted down lol i gotta retry a test fit to make sure its just ME or if something needs to change with my mount setup.

as far as a tank setup im not sure yet, might go with the early camaro tanks. i like the idea of a flip down tag. lol and when i bag it i can just raise the ass end up to make filling up a lil easier.

while i'm thinking of it......the poly mounts came with what seems to be a spacer that is bolted down underneath. is that part necessary??? i have a feeling if i remove them i would have an easier time bolting the pieces together.....
