Re: Hi all - Project Ginger Has Begun
I finally found some time to get some more pictures up of the progress. I have learn so much from this forum.
Here are some of the completed tasks: 1. Rebuilt my steering column with new upper and lower bearings and a new turn indicator switch. I painted most of the parts but left the wheel and visible parts with patina. 2. Installed the redhead steering gear box and at the same time shortened my steering column by about 1.75in (a little more gut room). 3. Powder coated or painted and installed all the 75 C10 steering linkage. New MOOG parts and junk yard center link and idler bracket.

4. Got my 12 bolt out and cleaned up and replaced the axles with five lug Yukon axles. I was lucky the even though my 12 bolt is a 64 it had 30 spline spider gears.
5. Started mocking up the rear Wilwood disk breaks and mounted the brackets for the flex lines. 6. Got the porterbuilt C notch and pan hard bar all mocked up and installed. I will have all that powder coated.

7. After what seemed to be forever I got my Porterbuilt control arms and upper shock mounts. These are some very nice parts! Porterbuilt is the best! Got the arms, shock mounts and my stock crossmember powder coated and all assembled on the bench ready to install back in the truck. I still need to order my springs and shocks this week.

Re: Hi all - Project Ginger Has Begun
Here is a list of things that I still need to get done before the cruising weather comes back.
1. Bend all the brake lines and install the Wilwood master cylinder. 2. Plumb and wire the new rear Boyd Welding tank. 3. Clean and Paint the rear frame rails and 12 bolt axle. 4. Figure out what power steering lines and pump to use and find a pump bracket so I can button up the power steering conversion. 5. This is the one i'm dreading the worst. Install an new rear main seal and pan gasket. Not sure why i'm dreading it maybe because i've never done it before.
