Re: Factory New 1964 Lambrecht Chevrolet C15 (1/2 ton Fleetside) 4.6 Actual Miles
Could we ask you 60-66, to leave a truck alone and not touch it, so other guys who do not pay you, can profit from the original source, of an untouched purchase? How much are you willing to spend for someone with one of these trucks to give you a glimpse of how it came originally so you can restore your vehicle, then turn around and sell theirs with no financial gain to you?
A Museum piece, like these trucks were originally, could be kept for future generations to be able to observe after paying their entry fee. But at what cost? Especially to the owner like the guy above. So say you own one of these and it doesn't run? Garage it behind a pane of glass and never physically enjoy your purchase? Imagine the guys who would show up at your place unannounced, to steal from your purchase, the knowledge of finish materials and what fasteners went where etc. Either you use it, display it at a profit, or tell no one, like a painting by the masters that hangs in a controlled room! At my age now, seeing what has been done to other trucks and mine as well, good quality or bad, I'd leave it alone.

Re: Factory New 1964 Lambrecht Chevrolet C15 (1/2 ton Fleetside) 4.6 Actual Miles
I have been looking for these trucks to resurface since the auction. I would love to have an opportunity to buy one of those 64-65 lambrechts untouched yet. Everyone has an opinion but this is just like any antique the value can actually decrease if you mess with it. I personally would like to still buy one but all the details that made it so factory correct are lost to the fresh restoration. Firewall markings factory installed bolts master cylinder. I personally would address the areas of rust and damage but only to the spot and then to restore it to the 50 rear old look. That's preservation not a total restoration. Kinda a Smithsonian find of one of a kind piece of factory art.

Re: Factory New 1964 Lambrecht Chevrolet C15 (1/2 ton Fleetside) 4.6 Actual Miles
I guess my take on this, and subsequent "bashing", or maybe better put "complaints" are this:
I thought the whole allure of the lambrecht auction , was to get original unmolested trucks. I would assume that people would want these trucks and pay top dollar for them to get special info on the way it was done.. example, grease pencil marks, factory overspray, factory clamps, routing of the wiring, factory paint.. all stuff that is mostly gone on the trucks that we can find now. so that is why it is frustrating to see the grille repainted, and see that the brackets are now white instead of black, a black repro mirror base not painted blue like the one that came off of it. incorrect door sill plates. wheels painted a different color, painted tailgate chains..etc A restoration like this is not a big deal, but since they are advertising it with the lambrecht heritage, one would expect that they would have got the little details correct since they were right there when they started. if this was just a restored truck on ebay, I would be fine with it, I would notice the incorrect details, but would not point them out unless they were purporting them to actually be correct. I guess in my opinion just stating that it is a lambrecht truck, is like stating that they have a factory correct truck, and most assuredly now it is not. **ironically the one thing they got correct , the black bedwood and strips, was all missing when they got the truck.

Re: Factory New 1964 Lambrecht Chevrolet C15 (1/2 ton Fleetside) 4.6 Actual Miles
I was at the auction and we took some photos of the only truck with wood left. It had the rear sill painted with the wood in it and then something like cardboard stapled randomly across the bed to keep overspray off the wood. We saw signs of this on some of the other trucks with some shards of wood left. Some of the original things were interesting. Why would they not put the wood in after paint?

Sorry guys. There are rules against bashing. This truck could belong to a member here.
