Good looking truck. Looks like after a good washing you were halfway there.

Re: Grandpas 1950 Chevy
Hey man sick ass build. I've got a question for ya how did you set up your front end ? Was it pretty ekstensive process getting the newer 1500 suspension to work on it ? I'm about to start a build on my 51 just don't know which direction on how I wanna lay it out

The front end is a custom independent front end. Its not clipped with a 1500 front end. What Todd did was used the spindle from a 1500 and build the cross member and upper and lower arms custom to put the tire where he wanted it. By using the spindle we are able to get the disk brakes and have the serviceability of the newer chevy and the custom arms allowed us to adapt it to the stock frame. I have attached a couple pictures. One is of the bare frame. you can see the custom cross member and the upper and lower mounting points for the front suspension. The other is from the assembly. Its a little harder to see because its all black but you can see the control arms are not the stock 1500. The upper one in the picture is a mock up arm we have. We made a tubular one to match the rest but it wasn't back from powdercoat yet. Hope this helps. Chad |
