Maybe the 2-jet is too much for the six...
Got a header or free flowing exhaust? An 80 would probably have a cat making the exhaust not flow well?

Integrated head, so I can't do a header, but my stock manifold has dual outlets so I plumbed it to dual exhaust. It's all 2.5" with dual cats. I think that it's plenty free flowing.
