Re: 55 Chevy C-4
Yes, the rear is going to go down also. Good idea didn't think to check the wheelbase. Now that you say that it does look like it needs to go forward.
Thanks Jim

Re: 55 Chevy C-4
Had a little time to play around tonight. Delay going back to work, I was replacing a brack chamber yesterday and looked over to the right drive tire when I got under the tractor and I had a wheel seal leaking. So today the truck went up to Kingman to get that fixed. Turns out they didn't have all the parts so another day or two off. Darn
Cut the tack welds and moved everything forward one inch.

Re: 55 Chevy C-4
I didn't like that so I moved it back one half inch. Now to confuse matters even more because I don't have the Vette rear in yet I took the rear wheels off to put it closer to the ride height. Now I think it needs to go back where I originally had it.

Re: 55 Chevy C-4
The first group of three pictures on this page are one inch forward before I lowered the rear. The second group I lowered the rear and slid it back one half inch. Now that the rear is closer I think I'll move it back one more time to where I origanally had it Wow I didn't realize lowering the rear was going to change the way the front would look so much.
What do you guys think? Thanks Hank

Re: 55 Chevy C-4
I liked where you had it to start...just looked more balanced. Very cool putting in the extra effort to make it look right.

Re: 55 Chevy C-4
Thanks Big and Advanced. Now that I have the rear lowered I'm going to put it back where it was today and take another picture. Funny when you can study a picture it looks different.

Re: 55 Chevy C-4
Man, it's hard to tell the difference between the 1" forward and the 1/2" forward. I like the last pic, which I think is the 1/2" forward. But remember YOUR the person you need to please, not us...Jim

Re: 55 Chevy C-4
HaHa your right about that Oldman. You know what happens when you get to many choices LOL. I like this one I moved it back one half inch from where I started and the rear is closer to where the ride height is going to be.
I'm going to put the other side together and make sure everything is the same and tack it there then I'll get the rear end in before I weld everything up. Thanks for the help everyone. Hank

Re: 55 Chevy C-4
What's the measurement from the center of drivers side front cab mount to the center of Flatout's cross member? I'm going to do the same thing shortly, 57 GMC corvette suspension both frnt & rear. You know you can never get enough data.
Thanks Nut Case
