It must be my turn. I'm Don Smith. I've been on the board for 2-3yrs. I was bought up in the Erie, Pa area and moved in my junior and senior year of high school. Joined the Navy while living in Wappinger Falls, NY. Nuclear trained and spent 9 yrs active duty riding submarines. Got married and had a girl while in the service. Worked at Electric Boat in Groton, CT as a Quality Assurance Specialist for 4 yrs as a civilian government employee. Decided I needed more challenging work so I got a job at a Nuclear Power Plant 30 minutes from where my Mother lives in Southern Maryland. My job now is to assure the safety of the public by operating the reactors properly. That took 1 1/2 years of additional full time training to recieve my license. Been here for 11 years. I'm 43 yrs old and have been married for 20 yrs. My daughter is 16 and just got her drivers license. I still haven't got her turned into a truck lover. The best I can do is El Camino/ Ranchero. I haven't lost hope yet. That's my life in a nutshell.

I guess I'll add my stuff. I think I'm the oldest to add to this thread. I'm 55 and am a farmer in NW Iowa. I've been a street rodder for about 33 years. My first project was a '48 F-1. I wish I still had it. I've done many over the years. I'm married to my wife for soon to be 31 years. I have two daughters. The older one married and gave us a grandson just 6 weeks ago. I just decided to get into the '67-72 scene two years ago. I've been working on my short step '67 for about a year and a half. Got the drive train all installed after a total ground up rebuild. 454 with Muncie 4- speed. I have a lot of body work done (cab rebuilt - took lots of time and aftermarket patch panels). At the present time I am in the process of getting all my machinery ready for harvest.

Whats goin on, I'm Rogelio Escobar, but my freinds call me Roger. I'm from San Marcos/San Antonio, TX and I have always loved chevy trucks, since my dads 78 1 ton to my girlfreinds 63 stepside. I'm 23 and my 68 is my first vehicle EVER...had it for almost 2 years...have only driven it less than 6 months.....just a bad crankshaft. I always wanted to fix my dads 78 up and drive it.....I wanted it to be my truck when I got older, well....at least I have the motor in my 68 now . There are great people on this board and without them I would not have gotten where I am right now. I am not a mechanic or body guy, but I do as much as I can, and if I can't I'm there watching and learning.

As the name says, Im Phil, Im at the wrong end of 49 and have 4 boys, one daughter, no grand kids (yet), only one son still home. Married for 27 years. I retired a few years back (medical) and now am trying to live the good life in Grants Pass Oregon. My first truck was a 1972 3/4 4x4 Cheyenne that I got NEW for making it out of High School. Owned it for 28 years until about 3 years ago and had a brain fart and got stupid and sold it. I sure miss that truck! ive had so many other 67-72 trucks, Blazers, Suburbans in the past 30 years, I couldn't begain to tell you how many. My daily driver "was" my 1980 Corvette until gas turned to gold. Now I use my Suzuki Samuri that I bought to tow behind my motorhome. 30+ mpg. What can I say. My latest project is a 71 3/4 Cheyenne 2wd. Wife is an RN, delivers babies and also teaches Nursing at the local college. Has a Masters and now is working on her PhD.
Soon I will get the "Doctor" name in front of mine! Retirement really sucked after the first 6 months. Doctor said "get a hobby or DIE" I have played with trucks ever since!
Own several Quarter Horses along with my German Shorthair dogs.
Been on the board for about 3 years.. Great job Josh! Im really not the a$$hole that a few have accused me of being!

My name is Krue (howd ya'll guess) I am 32 years old, married for 5 years with 2 boys to scatter my tools. I was raised in South Mississippi, and after an 8 year sentence in the Navy riding submarines I am now back in South Mississippi. I have a 70 GMC swb stepside that I drive almost daily. It needs some work but I haven't managed to get off my butt and get started on it. I guess I am scared that if I take it apart it won't ever be put back together again!

I'm John.Live in festus missouri.Work at KFC.Been doing it for 2 years.I am only 18.I still got a long way to go.

I have a 69lwb with a 350/3 speed. The motor is currently getting rebuilt.I am also going to start the body work this winter.Hopefully it wont turn into a frame off.I also have a 67 LWB I am thinking about getting rid of to get a shortbed s-10 to turn into a dragtruck.Something to play with so I don't have to tear my 69 up.I have had my 67 since the end of last december and I got my 69 sometime last spring.I haven't been into them long.I am hooked for life though.Hopefully one day my 69 will be as nice as what some of you guys have.

Where y'at!
I'm Joe, born, raised, and living in Metairie which is next door to New Orleans. Residing with my wife of 19 years, we have a son 18 and a daughter 14. I'm 53 years old and a painting contractor. I paint many houses in the New Orleans' Garden District.

I inherited my '67 C20 fleetside in 1982 from my dad who bought it brand spankin' new. It is my everyday work truck, it was his also.

Fortunate as hell to find this board (and a great bunch of folks) -- been most helpful in keeping the ol'67 going. Ol'67 is kinda beaten down but starts up everyday.

This thread makes for interesting reading.

Thumbs up

These threads are always interesting.
My name is Paris (no, I've never been there nor was I conceived there ) and live just west of Cleveland and have been in this area all my 33 years.
I'm not married and don't have any kids.....unless my dog (Shawna) counts as one.
I work as an assembler for Ford Motor Co. at a parts plant. Have been with the company for a little over 9 years......I thank God for a good job. Seriously!!!
I've had my fairly clean, unmolested '72 LWB truck a little over two years and still haven't made up my mind as to what I want to do with it. One of these days I'll make up my mind.

I'd like to thank everyone involved in keeping this site up and running on a daily basis. It's been a good source of information. I just wish I could remember everything I've read.

My name is Wes, I was in the Army for four years as a Combat Engineer and a tour in Bosnia (Got to blow up alot of landmines). Presently I am a Senior in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Business at Iowa State University, or I would be a student except I am deployed in Kuwait with the Iowa National Guard right now. Hopefully will be back in time to go to school in the spring. Bought my first 72 blazer when I was 17 had it for 1 1/2 fun filled years buy parents conviced me to sell it when I left for the Army. Bought an Eddie Bauer Bronco, threw a rod on the way down to Ft. Hood (worst truck I have ever had). Bought my current blazer 2 years ago and have been addicted ever since.

I have an 86trx250r.Right now the motor is out.I just got done putting all new bearing throughout the whole bike.New wheels and tires,850 dollars worth of crap. Now I have to get the motor done.I am planning on a 310 kit with a whole new bottom end.

Being 18 and working at KFC isn't helping pay for a 4-wheeler, and a truck.

Hey! I'm Mike, 32, married for 7 years with 2 kids (Alex-5, Amanda-3). I've worked in the cable industry for 7 years, currently I'm a preventive mainteance technichian (I fix the problems the newer guys can't) in Murfreesboro, TN. I was raised in Nickerson, KS and came to Mid-Tenn to go to college, met my wife, and needless to say am still here.

I got my truck as a hand-me-down from Dad when I was 17. I never wanted to tell myself "I should have never sold that truck", so it sat back in Kansas while I did the college and newlywed thing. Now that I have a garage big enough to house her, I have FINALLY started the restro after 9 years.

This board is the GREATEST!! The knowledge I have/will learn is priceless. I don't post often, but read daily. Thanks everyone!

My name is Tom (Duh!) 43 married with an 8 year old boy and a 7 year old girl.

I have worked for 19 years as an instrumentation/controls tech. for Johnson Controls Inc.

I've been in love with our series of trucks since I was a teenager. Our neighbors had a sharp red 3/4 ton 4X4 72 that they used for plowing. That was always my dream truck. I owned a green/white topped 69 Custom while I was in college and bought my white 68 about 6 years ago. My boy is already asking who gets the 68 after I croak. He's setting his sights on it!
