Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's

My ex-wife told me after being with me so long she noticed every pre-73 GM truck. She would tell me where she saw them sitting. She also knew a lot about differences in models and factory color or not...pretty well. She also would comment on what isn't original. She liked that I was into old vehicles and it rubbed off. While with me she ran a '55 Chevy Wagon, '63 Riviera, BBC '71 Suburban and SWB Cheyenne. All daily drivers were 4 or 5spd manuals, except the last one. She drove a '79 ford Fairmont 3+1, then bought her fathers '82 rabbit. They were all Chevys after that...except the last one. Yep, I'm tellin' you guys right now, unless you want her to leave, keep her in a GM manual shift!

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's

My wife (#3) was a fan of classics until we got married. I've drug her all over the east coast to shows and all she does is complain about how noisy the car is. Now she won't even go unless there is a casino nearby but I'm old and can't walk much so we don't go much anymore.

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's

While my wife almost exclusively admires classics, compared to modern automobiles, she really doesn't give two hoots about any specifics. Though, she is kind enough to include the pickup in important milestones in our lives.

She allowed it to be apart of our wedding announcement photos, driven to our outdoor, countryside wedding and included in our wedding photos, and most recently, our baby announcement photos.

Since I don't have one of those any longer, it really doesn't matter!

If my wife actually knew what I paid for parts, tools, guns and other stuff...

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd like that.

Not so educated, but she does love the truck; has since her dad bought it in '73.

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's

the only thing mine says about my truck is "you already have one junk car". Im all; hon its not junk its just taken apart to the frame. she just nods disapprovingly.

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's

She can clearly pick out a 67\68 like mine, and that the 69-72s look the same. If she tells me she saw a "truck like mine" today I know its at least a 67-72 and not a square body or something.

Since I bought a 65 mustang she can now distinguish 65-70 mustangs by year... The rest are too ugly to care. She also knows some of the biggies... Tri fives... Recognizes camaros/firebirds/gtos as what they are... Terrible with years but gets the car right. Not bad for a 31 year old that cares nothing about classics except riding in mine and knowing it makes me happy.
